This is dead on, it's so hard to truly be ourselves sometimes.
As someone who is extremely averse to conflict, I often find myself avoiding people rather than telling them how I feel when they've made me uncomfortable.
Similar to you, I've never been good at conflict, either just ignoring my frustrations until they build up and explode, or ignoring the people. I've always struggled to express anger and dissatisfaction with other people.
But the freedom that comes from being able to express ourselves in all situations is astounding. It's literally like removing the chains that our minds create. Funny how we are often our own biggest obstacle.
