A question that's always come across my mind when in relationships is which person did you love more? And thats not fair
But after spending time thinking about these things I realize why that question is unfair. I believe we, as humans, enter every relationship trying to love that person as much as we possibly can at that moment in time.
In life, we do our best to make every love as pure and maximal as possible. That is the only way I know how to love for better or for worse.
One of the biggest barriers I've found in this space is allowing my ego to get in the way. And by this I mean imposing my will on how I believe the relationship should go. This has led to frustration and anger and sadly separation. Yet I have learnt some of the most important lessons in the darkest parts of my life. It's important for me to reflect on mistakes so as to learn from them and perhaps even share with others so they do not fall to similar paths.
The second you try and impose your will on a relationship you are telling the other person "you are not how I want you to be." Which makes them feel as if who they are now isn't good enough. That's never how relationships should work. Love is about acceptance and respect and loyalty. With this in mind I leave you with one of my favourite quotes.
Namaste my friends
