What Love is—Really Quite Simply!

in #love7 years ago

Intro

I learned nearly everything that I know about love between the age of 23 and 28. Since then, everything I’ve experienced and learned about love has simply been a form of more and more “evidence”. Here are observations I’ve found interesting about “love”, followed by what love is according to other influential people.

  1. When we are resistant to love, it is because the love we receive heals our emotional issues quicker than we can comfortably adjust to the healing. It brings to our attention that we have pain that we still have to resolve...whether we like it or not!
  2. Unexpectedly, the feeling of love is less influential and less powerful than the love in action. For example, the act of saving someone’s life is more powerful than the emotional feeling of being saved. It is powerful because it summons greater degrees of harmony to all of our personal realities.

According to AJ Miller

“Whatever you’d like somebody to do to you, do to them. That’s what love is. So what would you like from other people? Think about when you were a child...”

According to Mort Fertel

“Love is a verb.”

I cannot believe that this guy’s YouTube channel only has about 1600 subscribers today. He focuses on marriages; however, his teachings are appropriately applicable to any form of relationship—friends, coworkers, lovers, newly-acquainted, and so on. Remember from my recent article about How to Learn Anything, being fluent with the rudimentary elements are absolutely necessary in order to master any subject or practice!

I REPEAT...

...rudimentary to any form of relationship!

According to Ou Wenwei (Poetry)

The teachings from Ou Wenwei, and many of them involved in the Pangu Shengong exercises and philosophy, had the largest impact on my understanding of love. While Mort Fertel’s Information was rudimentary, what I learned through Ou Wenwei gave me countless contexts and living examples to then be “glued” together by Mort’s practical knowledge.

Enjoy his poem—also translated from Cantonese.

“What is love?
Love is respect and devotion,
The perfect harmony of true affection and kindness
. . . one for the other.
It is like clear spring water
. . . that sweetly moistens and silently penetrates:
Tender feelings flowing continuously
. . . with sincere, endless dedication.
Love is as generous as sunshine,
. . . warmly caring and voluntarily giving with deep affection,
. . . is intimate and free,
. . . genuine, touching, profoundly tolerant.”

“What is love?
Love is respect and devotion,
The perfect harmony of true affection and kindness
. . . one for the other.
It is like the stars in the sky
. . . that shine and sparkle:
Always there, firmly above us,
. . . transcending earthly time and space.
Love is the harvest of our cultivation:
. . . ploughed in spring, sowed in summer,
. . . reaped in autumn and stored in winter;
. . . only through our persistent labor can we enjoy
. . . its sweet, rich, intoxicating fruits!”

“Ah—under magnificent sunshine, neither darkness nor confusion,
. . . only brightness and openness:
. . . true feelings given without regret or greed,
. . . complaint or hatred.”

“Ah—within true love’s realm, neither narrow-mindedness nor discontent,
. . . Only tolerance and understanding, forgiveness and loyalty are required:
. . . Knowing each other well, embracing each other with hearts sincere and true.”

“This, then, is love—real love, noble love: the love that leads
. . . to beauty and happiness forever.”

According to Robert Genito

As expected, love is deep and words cannot exist to contain its scope entirely. Here are a few words to enjoy and close with :)

  • Love is truth.
  • Love is the ultimate form of knowledge.
  • Love, at its ultimate form, responds in complete harmony with all energies.
  • Love, at its ultimate form, lacks friction.
  • Love is how you act without sacrificing the selfless needs of another.
  • Love is simple; the more you complicate the experience with it, the less you will absorb during that experience.

Love is emotional information that is rudimentary to this universe—the basic force that animates everything emotionally and recognizable by any perception. It touches many perceptions, and my guess is that it can touch all perceptions!

To put it simply...

Love is Light. Literally.

Can love truly be experienced mentally?

Thank you! :)

I will love you! And I have all of the reason to do so!

Some info about me: I've been involved with Bitcoin since 2010. By trade I am an expert on blockchain technology. I am the Project Director for Wall of Coins, and CEO for Genitrust, Inc. I eat primarily fruits and leafy greens ("fruitarian"). This is known as a frugivorous diet, which is the diet by design of the human species and most primates. I don't cook my fruits, so you may also call this "raw vegan". I have eaten virtually every food item and major cultural style on this planet. I have experienced long periods of many different diet regimens: acid/alkaline, ketogenic, vegan, etc. In my spare time as a child, and an adult, I truly relished reading articles, books, and research papers on nutritional observation. I also enjoy and frequently practice long periods of juice fasting, water fasting, and dry fasting.

Thank you for reading, upvoting, tipping, and re-steeming!

Love? go as I say in the image for me is simply amazing, as you say is simply light literally, it is something so beautiful that it only takes you to another galaxy and only makes you feel like a very special person, is something that we all should keep in mind in our day to day because a life with love is much better than a simple and dry life like some people, it is only my opinion but I think this is one of the best things that God gave us, thanks for this great post full of love, Greetings friend ;)

Thats what we all need these days. Did you read the book 'Five languages of love'. Thats the title if i am not wrong. Act of saving someones life is indeed great but there is also a warmth in knowing that you are loved :)

Haven’t read the book! Share the love, my friend!

@robertgenito..this is a very powerful enlightenment about this great aspect of life.."Love"

Love is light

This is true. Walking in love is walking in light. It is something invisible that basically does appeal to human emotions. Love never fails. When you are a loving person you greatly influence people positively in this world. No one in this world can indeed admire and even persist on following an unloving person.

Thanks buddy for demonstrating love to us here.

Im happy you appreciate this... and thank you :)

My dear friend @robertgenito as you say love is light, and if I think I can experiment mentally, although beyond that is demonstrated by facts. Also as you quote Mort Fertel phrase:

"Love is a verb"

And it really is this way, it is a verb and not a noun, we must always show the love we feel for other people and show that light that appears at the end of so much darkness.

Great video thanks for sharing!

Hello friend I love your articles, in my opinion there are 3 types of loves, 1. He who does not reach adolescence, who teaches us to love, we fill with illusions and it seems that it is a movie script. 2. It teaches us pain and we cling to it, even knowing that it is not for nothing, it is the one that can be loved forever and 3 is that all that helps us is the one that we did not expect to happen, but that we let go the things, it is only us leaving the surprise that is the one that heals the wounds and makes us happy. IT IS THE TRUE LOVE. May God continue to fill you with wisdom.

hello friend greetings before everything I hope you are very well, love is a sacrifice, joy and dedication to save life you have to have courage, knowledge love is a great reason to save life. Love must be expressed and always demonstrated. greetings excellent subject

Hello friend, love fills us with
expectations, failures, illusions and smiles. Very good book of The Experience of love
(The evolution of the love relationship over time)
Robert J. Sternberg, which draws our attention to a psychological approach to human relationships that reveals how and why people fall in love and fall out of love. BLESSINGS FRIEND

Thank you...someone had to have written about the experience of love, right? :)

Hello @robertgenito in my opinion saving a life is an act of love, many people risk their lives to save another and we must have knowledge of first aid that we should all have, because they are decisive to save human lives. Do not be afraid to use them. That rewards God.

I LOVE this 😉😊

I’m so so happy that you do :) thank you for letting me know!

Love is one of the most important feelings that every human being should have in mind for their well-being, a universal affection. With love we can achieve the best things, everything that we propose in life motivates us and gives us a lot of strength. Greetings, great friend.

hello friend @robertgenito, love motivates us but can also cause damage for that in many movies, songs and novels revolve around that issue. According to some results, they say that when they fall in love, they are fed a series of behaviors that help keep us alive.

I do not understand. How can love cause damage?
