There is no religion, all is LOVE

in #love7 years ago

When I was a teenager I tried to be a Christian, I tried to be a believer. I’m from a part of Norway that is so full of Christians that it is nicknamed “the Bible Belt”, and being surrounded by so many believers I didn’t want to feel like an outsider. No matter how much I tried there was something in me that didn’t want to believe that there is a God in the sense that a lot of religions describe, a person or creature deciding and judging our actions.

I believe that there are miracles in this world that sometimes are better felt than explained, without a doubt, but I couldn’t quite place my finger on what it was. The ashram I lived in when I took my yoga teacher training I came across a sign in the forest that looked like this:
there is no higher religion than love.jpg
God is one.
The names are many
There are no higher religion than LOVE

This really resonated with me. This is the energy that I’ve felt everywhere, no matter what type of religious (or non religious) people I came across. Love isn’t restricted to various religions or beliefs. Isn’t the base of most religions to love thy neighbour?

God now is no more a person sitting up in the clouds looking down at what I do at every second, god everything. God is Mother Earth. God is Father Sky. God is the energy keeping everything alive. To me, God is the universe.

Remember to love. It has no borders and no limits. I’m sending you, dear reader, all the love in the world. We are the same you and I. Both a part of the same big wholeness. Wishing you a beautiful and kind day.

Love,
Tone

When you start to think that someone believing something else is in some way lesser than you, it is time to reconsider what you are because to me that looks like some kind of psychological problem.
Sadly in today's world this seems to be happening a lot.

God is love.
God is the energy that resonates in all of us, in all the life on this beautiful planet and beyond.
God is within all of us and we all have the capacity to be like a god to the loved ones around us.

Wonderfully put. Thank you.

I love this post. Although its amazing, don't you think its not practically possible to make common people accept this?

everyone is focused on fighting about which god is better and lost the whole concept of god.

This is so true. What god would encourage fighting and the destruction of our planet ? #notmygod

I believe that if people find it hard to accept then they identify so strongly with their religion that to give up that belief is to give up on their own identity. It's necessary for us to realise we're all one and that there is no u"us" versus "them".

we don't need god or a religion, the only thing we need is love!

Hey Tone, just found your page today (I'm new to steemit), and so happy I did.

I love how you said that. It resonates with me, actually. Where I grew up in Texas was also referred to as "The Bible Belt." I had a toxic exposure to this due to the way I was raised and it subjected me to a number of harmful situations that were allowed to happen to me because of it.

It's taken many years of deconstructing myself and near-death to really know for 100% in my own self that there is no right or wrong religion, just as you said.

And it's true, Love is the One.

I'm so glad you decided to stop by. We all have our different paths, some of them more painful than others, but I hope you feel that you're better off going through it. I know I am in a weird way grateful for all the bad stuff that came my way in the past years.

A lot of the messages in religion are beautiful. And I know that the bible portrays love in beautiful ways, but when people think that love is exclusive for religion, that's when they lose me.

It's so much easier to focus on the source of happiness: love.
