Sometimes it's the smallest decision that can change your life forever. - Keri Russell
You can tell, Keri.
It's not the decision itself that actually scares us. It's rather its unpredictable consequences we lose sleep over.
What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?
We've got always a choice, and most of the time the one that scares us the most is the one we actually want to (and should) go on with.
I've made a couple of bad decisions in my life - some of those decisions that scared me at first and then turned out to be big mistakes -, but you know what: I don't regret any of them.
After all those mistakes have led me to become who I am today.
It's all good.
If it doesn't scare you at first, it's probably not worth it.
Your heart knows the way. 💛
Sometimes we just need to think a little less - and feel a little more.
Deep inside ourselves there are all the answers to all those questions.
Believe me.
The beautiful thing about decision making is that we only need to rely on ourselves. Everything we do, everything we are, is the product of our own choices.
As long as we don't get distracted by other people or circumstances, chances are high that we'll be on the right track.
On our track.
It requires confidence and courage to make a decision that can potentially change your life forever. Yet, if you run away from those decisions, they will enventually come back to you at a later point in time.
Yes, they will find you.
Decisions are like boomerangs, they know where you are.
Embrace the opportunity.
Once you've made that decision, you're going to experience a great relief.
Then be determined and don't challenge your own choice.
You can't turn back time for a reason and shouldn't ever regret any of your decisions in life. Even those which turn out to become your biggest mistakes, may ultimately lead to something amazing.
Everything in life happens for a reason, and the things that don't happen as well.
And now go out and make that decision you've been putting off for a while :-)
Much love & happy weekend,
Marley - 💛

Every one of us is losing something precious to us.
Lost opportunities, lost possibilities,
feelings we can never get back again.
That’s part of what it means to be alive.

Love this!!! Much wisdom in here. Thank you :-)
A couple of times yes, quitting my job, starting a business, Firing a big client because of a culture clash, letting go of someone I cared for deeply, traveling alone lol there have been plenty of times I was scared but I learn from it and now have experience which is what life is about I suppose!

Thanks for the insights, @chekohler! I think we're pretty much on the same wave length here as I can completely relate to your list :)
Have a nice weekend, and again thanks for stopping by!
I made a decision few years back to become a steemer, many tried to stop my decision but I resisted them and stood my ground. That my little decision has made me a Steem soldier today!
Thanks @surfermarly for this beautiful piece!
Have a lovely weekend!

Oh, I hope you don't have to make a living only from STEEM. At the current price that must be a true fight..
Have a great weekend yourself, Max! :-)
We’re the ones giving life to Steem!

Yea. Finally quitting this brainwash system.
But you cant just quit.. You are forced to pay taxes, finance wars, work for your masters.
If you rebel, then ure dumb and have adhs.
If you stay for your rights, they criminize you.

DRAMA
go to steem-engine.com.!dramatoken
Wow, someone sounds quite angry here, huh?
Why wouldn't you be able to quit? Nobody is forced to work for a master, you can just become your own master, can't you?
C'mon I send you a token over cause apparently you really deserve it :-)
You still have to pay taxes on everything.
Even though I live in germany and everyone on earth knows the nuremberg trials.. And principles..

Well I guess you also wanna drive on roads and enjoy some medical care in case you're ill... I don't see anything bad about paying taxes tbh. Even in a decentralized world you'd need funds to finance security and progress. Contributing is not per se a bad thing, but I agree that it does matter what happens with those funds.
In Germany you at least get something back, especially thinking about health care. In other countries there are long waiting lists for simple treatments, in Germany you can even choose your favorite doctor. In other countries they're assigned to you - and only God knows if they're even real doctors.
It'd be definitely even better to live in a decentralized world where we'd take care of all that by ourselves. And the good thing is that we're exactly moving towards such a world. Yet, we'd be still contributing financially each and all of us. Now we only need to educate our kids accordingly and pave the way for that future we want them to live in.
Medicinal aid failed on me.
They were ignorant and didnt listen.
Now I have chronic pain. So this argument does not really work for me.
Instead of insurances and taxes Id prefer buying btc to then have a financial Puffer to pay for privat help which I can choose.

Have been down that path
Even now, the amount of time I put into Steem is crazy...
I want it to Moon
But if it doesn't ... I have come to know some amazing people here, I am becoming more comfortable in my own skin, I have learnt so much
Regret is a waste of time, just take your lessons and move forward...
The only way to
survivethrive with the curve balls the universe throws at you every now and then :DIt is Saturday... Have a great weekend Marley <33
YES. That's the spirit :-)
Thanks a lot for stopping by and sharing your thoughts @kaerpediem.
Hope you're having a great weekend, too! :-)
:D
Yea, many times and daily I have to make new decision. If it was right or wrong, only the time will tell, nobody else, great post @surfermarly
Absolutely. Decision making is part of life, and whether we want or not we've got to find a way to deal with it. Thanks for stopping by @travelwithus :-) Have a nice weekend!
You are lucky that you only made a couple of bad decisions. I can’t even count mine 🙀 nice reminder! 🙌 and good to see you again

Haha, well there was a good portion of bad decisions to be honest. But my brain is trained to only remember positive memories :-DD
I do the same actually :)

The most difficult decision for me is to choose between the same two choices, both of them have something extraordinary, and when I can't make the right decision when I have to choose one of the two difficult choices, then I will regret when I choice turns out far better than the choice I have made..
that's what happened when I chose between two beautiful women who each had their strengths, and it turned out that my choice was a big regret for not choosing the other one ..
Well I'd say you're a fortunate man if you can even choose between two beautiful women :-) When you found out that the other one would have been the better match, she was gone already I guess?

Was she talking about that time Felicity cut her hair and the series pretty much ended?
Wuuut? :-))
It wasn't this Keri Russell providing these great quotes?
I can't click on links that take me away from steemit - bad experience ya know :-D
But I'm sure it was a fun source :-)
Ah, fair enough:
I'm not super sure my little throwaway joke was putting you through all this... but I'm a completeist.
With links, if you hover over them, you should be able to see the link URL in the bottom left hand corner of the browser. Still obviously better to be careful, but you'll have more information at least... if you don't want to click the link, you still might be able to google the same words in the link to get to the same place. Not saying it would have been worth it in this case, just a general FYI...

I really like the picture of the skateboarder sitting on his board. A nice Old Skool hat too!
