Back with a new video today highlighting our Lovesniper initiative that could use some more curators and community helping out as well.
We go through some of the basics of what it does, how anyone can access the list the bot generates whenever a new account makes its first post and how we look at things to determine if an account is genuine or not to be accepted to our initiative.
Once accepted we highlight the new user into our compilation posts, this is to allow readers to give the new hopefully real users a follow and support while at the same time rewarding the curators who put in a lot of time to go through the lists and consume the content while checking for obvious signs of general abuse to avoid assisting and encouraging such account creation in the future.
If you're interested in helping out as a curator, please respond here in the comments or come over to our Discord server and let us know you're interested and we'll take it from there, or if you're interested in just generally helping out with retention and possible curation of new users you can freely look at the channel that announces when an account makes its first post just be careful not to overreward or encourage any and all accounts as some may be abusers waiting/hoping to receive "easy rewards" for fake introduction posts, ID theft, etc.
Anyway, will be going through some more initiatives we're involved with in OCD through videos and potentially looking for more curators in the near future.

I didn't know about that initiative, looks very good for newcomers to have a strong hello and some incentives... One should as you say check for images and tags, it's kinda hard a new user on first post puts ecency neoxian and such... Sadly I don't have the time to help curating 😅 working on bringing peeps via reddit
I owe part of my Hive success to the lovesniper initiative. I remember feeling a bit sad when the account unfollowed me, but it served as a polite reminder that I'm no longer a newbie.
I appreciate the initiative and will do anything within my capacity to support it.

I have a question, which I think is a bit ignorant and out of context for the post: If I invest in DCrops and receive Hive profits, how does that contribute to the platform? Are those Hive just profits from what I invested there, or does Hive benefit from those transactions? Why do I keep stopping using Power Up to receive Hive there
The profits probably come from curation rewards, the owner is not solely curating people invested in the game, just sharing curation rewards with dcrops holders, that's not a loss to hive as there's no shady practices going on that go against curation.

I would love to join and help to welcome these newbies and curate posts from this initiative. I remember my days as a newbie and an extra support like this would have been a great help so I am interested in being a curator.

Lovesniper welcomed me too, thanks for that. On Discord, The Terminal and its administrator @jamerussell are also great at helping and supporting newcomers. They welcomed me when I joined and are always helpful with their suggestions. It's a good team and they're very kind people.

Ow this is definitely one of my favorite accounts here, i'm so glad you're trying to really promote this platform in your own way, especially for new users, i wish the lovesniper initiative was active when i first joined cos it might have stopped me from being AWOL for over a year before coming back to the platform and I just wish genuine new users have some sort of referral to how the platform works and not just being upvoted so that even after initial curation they can continue growing organically.
Although it was a long time ago, I still remember what it felt like to be a new blogger and get a big upvote - it's very encouraging and inspired me into a habit of consistent posting and building a following. I don't want to compare it to gambling, but it's a little like a slot machine, you put in your time and creative effort blogging day after day, accepting undervalued upvotes earning pennies for the work. Knowing (from experience) that at any moment a big upvote could strike with your next "pull", keeps the bloggers pulling!

Hello, I regularly look for new accounts to support with votes, welcomes and some useful suggestions to avoid some initial mistakes (which I also made).
Sometimes I didn't know if I was doing the right thing. If the accounts were real and worthy of attention. I didn't know about the “LoveSniper” feature. In fact, this bot already helps to clear up my doubts. I'll start there.
I don't want to summarize my participation in HIVE by creating my own content. In fact, I've already decided: I'm only going to do 2 or 3 posts a week. I prefer to do little and do it well.
