A few useful ideas to supercharge your Hive awareness hustle online

Fellow Hivers, greetings.

I have been closely following your awareness campaign on Twitter and I can see that it is bringing some good results for the community. There is a lot of growth potential out there and I would like to point out some simple marketing techniques that could compliment your hard work in a more efficient way. My "marketing expert" bio is sarcastic but I do know a few tricks here and there. Here are my ideas:

  1. Start using Q&A websites

Twitter is great for some extra exposure but the targeted audience is a bit narrow. Crypto Twitter is not the only group we should be targeting. There are many content creators out there that would love to get rewarded for their work and Hive can certainly help with that. Instead of focusing all of your efforts on Twitter, try answering a few questions on Quora on a daily basis. Look for the ones that are asking about Reddit alternatives, free blogging platforms, rewards for content creators and so on. Hive can be very useful for many non-crypto people out there, we just need to tell them why they should join and how to get started. Use Google and be creative with your questions. Once you identify problems that could be solved with Hive, devote a few minutes to provide a simple answer with a link back to the Hive community.

Sidenote: A simple and straightforward "How to get started with Hive" video should be available and easily accessible by newcomers.

2 . Forums and Reddit

Online forums, especially Reddit, are busy on a daily basis. Conversations are going on in real-time and Hive could be a part of those conversations. Search for threads that talk about rewarding content creators or looking for free blogging platforms. Repeat the same process as on Quora and watch the user numbers grow exponentially.

3 . Live Chat groups

Telegram, Viber, What's Up... Where there is constant communication, there is room for some ethical shilling. I know that a lot of you consider Discord to be the "enemy of Hive" but spending 10-15 minutes in the right chat rooms can bring in a few new users on a daily basis. Participate in group chats and try to give potential new users a good reason to come and join Hive. A little honesty goes a long way.

4 . Abstract idea

All of the above requires time, energy, and effort. That is why most of that work is paid for by companies to spread the word about their brand and products. Since Hive has no CEO we could potentially consider a marketing fund that would be donation-based. We could have a spreadsheet with links to your answers and comments where users mentioned Hive and got some results, and distribute funds to contributors accordingly. This would need to be a collective effort so if anyone has any ideas on how to make it happen feel free to contact me and I will gladly help to put all of this together.

Context: Q&A platforms and forums allow your answers to stay up for as long as the platform operates or the thread/question gets deleted. When compared to Twitter, this approach is more productive in the long run because Tweets just get buried in the sea of spam and you have to repeat them on a daily basis while your answers are always easy to find.

Thanks for your time

Barnum

All good ideas and something that I was thinking about myself. Time is a huge problem for me but I think we are ready to set up a marketing group and try to get funding from the dao. It's just a matter of who wants to take it on.

If you could get the right proposal in place it would provide funds for advertising, competitions, incentives users to market for you and fund a team to run the project.

I know what I would like to do with it but having the time and effort to put it together is another question altogether.

As for the suggestions above we do have a ggod few users covering twitter and reddit but I like the Q&A idea. It's a place that I haven't seen any effort put into so far and could be good for hive.

Q&A websites don't change much over time so a good answer is revisited millions of times. Less work with more results.

Time is a problem on my side as well but if enough people show interest I'll give it a shot and rearrange my schedule.

A marketing group sounds about right. Anyone, in particular, I could contact about that?

There is a marketing discord that has been set up in the past month. They are currently organizing and setting up new initiatives so you would get in contact with the right people there.
