I usually do not write negative posts, but this time I feel I have to as a warning to others.
The Ledger Nano S cost me 7000 USD in LTC lost!!
How is that possible, you might ask?
Well I bought the Ledger Nano S to keep my cryptos save. Just see my steem post on it when I just bought it: https://steemit.com/ledgerwallet/@davetromp/keeping-my-cryptos-secure-with-the-ledger-nano-s
So the Ledger Nano S has a LTC segwit wallet. Together with Trezor they are one of the first wallet providers to support LTC Segwit. I guess that in the rush of being first to provide a segwit wallet they have delivered it full of bugs. And these bugs have let to the following:
I have send out 28.6 LTC from my Ledger Nano S LTC segwit wallet. My balance is zero. The transaction hashes / ids that is returned for the transactions however do not exist on the blockchain and the transactions have remained unconfirmed for one week now.
I have send a support request including all the log files of the wallet app, but this far I have not received any response that they are looking into the issue.
And I am not the only one having this issue. In the Google chrome store there is another user reporting 60 LTC being lost.
More than 60 Litecoin sent and confirmed from Ledger Nano S to Bitfinex.
On 21/12/2017 at 0:00h I made a transaction from my Ledger Nano S to my Bitfinex wallet.
The Ledger Nano S gave me a false/wrong transaction number and my LTC's are missing.
My LTC are not in my Ledger Nano S.
My LTC are not in my Bitfinex wallet.
My LTC are not on the LTC explorer according with the transaction number given by my Ledger Nano S.
As developer team can see on attached pictures I've sent them, there are "0 confirmations" several days later.
I'm very concerned about my 60 LTC and every coins/token I have into my Ledger Nano S.
I only want to have my LTC's back as soon as possible.
I've sent many information about this Ledger Nano S problem system to the developers, and many screen captures; but I'm still waiting one week ago without any response.
Could you fix this, please?
And later:
I've checked again today (more than a week later), on the Ledger Bitcoin application but the problem is not fixed yet,
I'm very concerned about my 60 LTC. How could the Ledger Nano S system give me a false/wrong transaction number Please, fix the problems.
So please be warned:
Do not use the LTC Segwit wallet on the Ledger Nano S!
You might loose all your LTC!!!
I do hope Lederwallet will fix the issue. I will update this post if I ever get my LTC back.
Please re-steem this post and share it with as many people as possible, so no more people will loose their LTC on the Ledger.
I found a solution: https://steemit.com/ledgerwallet/@davetromp/trezor-saves-the-day-recovered-7000-usd-in-ltc-in-limbo-on-ledgerwallet
