LUV began as a token on https://hive-engine.com today.
The idea is simple
When you find someone or something on Hive that you love, or maybe someone who could use some love, share the LUV!
The numbers
Making a token means making decisions. I wrestled with a number to set as the max supply. The number is a bit arbitrary. Bitcoin is set at 21 million. Dogecoin is over 125 billion.
And then, there's decimals. Zero? Two? Or three, four? Or eight, like Bitcoin?
I lean toward smaller max supply and smaller decimals. Simple is better. But, we're spreading LUV, right? The supply of LUV should be infinite, but this is not fiat currency! Yet, setting the LUV supply as too scarce would not be a good thing.
My gut told me that there should be enough LUV for everyone to have some. With 7.8 billion people in the world, I figured the max should be 7.8B...one LUV per person worldwide. But, I like smaller numbers, maybe 10 million? With more decimals? I decided on that.
After a cup of coffee, and on a whim before pressing the button, I changed plans. I decided to go with 10 billion as a max supply. I added three zeroes, divisible all the way down to 8 decimals. There will be lots of LUV.
Issue and send
I issued 10,000 LUV to my account, @crrdlx, so that I could start sharing the LUV. I sent the first LUV to my sweetie, @marthabanks.

Where is the LUV?
I'm sure many of you know about this, but others may not. LUV is a Hive-based token that can be seen at https://hive-engine.com If you go to hive-engine, login, and click "wallet", you'll see any tokens that you have. There, you should find your LUV.

To send LUV
- Go to https://hive-engine.com You must have some LUV first.
- Click the "Send Tokens" button (see image below).
- Fill out (1) username, (2) amount, and (3) add an optional note.
- Send LUV.
- The recipient will be able to see their LUV in their hive-engine wallet.
