Better Days To Come
By Dan Shaw
Even mountains get eroded by the sea
How do you think sand becomes so fine?
Because it was broken down
By something much bigger than it’s kind
I used to be a mountain, I once stood tall
Until you broke me down and I felt like nothing at all
I was once a friend and I had a home
Now you’ve taken that too and I’ve got nowhere to go
There are better days to come
I tell myself as I look up to the sun
I’m grateful for the earth beneath my feet
And the stars above these trees
But you make me feel so damn weak
It’s hard not to just accept defeat
There are better days to come..
Why do I always feel so numb?
Somewhere below the rainbow
In the ever rumbling mountains
There's a great big tornado
Flowing through these old curtains
Continuously questioning where I belong
Shunned and helpless, where did I go wrong
Lost in translation, mostly in time
Struggling to fill these empty gaps in my mind
There are better days to come
I tell myself as I look up to the sun
I’m grateful for the earth beneath my feet
And the stars above these trees
But you make me feel so damn weak
It’s hard not to just accept defeat
There are better days to come..
Why do I always feel so numb?
