I'd like to name this photograph ― Peony In Love. The name is taken from a book title by my favorite author Lisa See.

Last year around September, I started working at a flower shop. I took photographs for their social media accounts whilst learning how to make bouquets firsthand from a renowned Egyptian florist in United Arab Emirates. Learning wasn't really part of the contract, but I love learning pretty things and I have been good friends with everyone, so they told me to learn in my free time.
I have been there for roughly 5 months, and I really did enjoy learning so much in such a short time to the point that the thought of becoming a florist didn't sound so bad, althought of course not as much as becoming a painter.
Let me share to you random things I learned while working there! 🌻
- Flower stems should be cut right after being delivered for it to have a fresher stem to soak up/in new water;
- And the water should be replaced everyday for the flowers to last much longer.
- Peony flowers should not be placed directly to sunlight and it should be wrapped properly for it not to blossom more, specially if you're not using/selling it yet. A single flower cost around $9-$12 depending on the size.
- Those simple roses in a box and heart shaped roses are so easy to make if you have the right materials.
- An infinite rose can last up to a year without water, albeit expensive.
- You need to by wary of White Lily's stigmata because it can stain your clothes.
- You need to take some of the roses' petals in order for it to look fresher, especially if they are already days old.
I think that's all for now. Everything felt so new to me that is why I had so much fun while it lasted. I am even considering of attending floral arrangement classes once I'm home, and perhaps open a small flower shop in the future. Let's see!
Bouquets that I made!
Everything is personally handpicked!
This is my most favourite bouquet which is why I'm showing it first! Textrue is everything!
The very first bouquet I made that made it to their social media.
Fall inspired bouquet.
Here is a bonus pink rose which you can download for free here. I have also posted some more flower photos if you fancy looking!

Thank you and namaste!
P.S. I am currently writing the 2nd part of my Art Diary, so please stay tuned!
You write well, take excellent macro photos and even can create beautiful bouquets!
What is it that you can't do!
You are simply awesome.
Thanks, mavs! Let me call you that way. :) I can't.... dance. Hahaha!
Coolness haha
If I were born to dance, Id study ballet in a heartbeat. Hehe :)
Floriculture is something I am terrible at. I used to have a couple of hard-to-kill flowers at home, which I somehow still managed to kill...
That said, the rose in the last picture is beautiful :)
P.S. When I was reading a couple of your posts, I had the feeling that you are an INFP person. And surprise, surprise - I just noticed "INFP" in your "About" section :)
Haha youre funny! I bet you can kill succulents and cactus as well! And thank youuu, Dan!
Woah! What was your basis? And what is your personality type? INTJ?
Lol, a succulent was one of plants that I killed 😂
As for the type of personality, it occured to me when I was reading about your suicidal self. I am an INFP too.
Checkmate! Hahaha! Maybe you watered them very frequently or starved them to death?
Oh, hugs! I know it's hard.
You got me! I watered it way too often until one day I found it collapsed, soft as a jelly-like mass.
I wonder what other traits we have in common :)
I do have succulents myself. And I just schedule when should I water them ahead of time. It helps if they have names to avoid killing innocent ones. :D
We will definitely see in the coming days since we now follow each other! Thank you!

Seeing the color and details on your photographs feels very refreshing. I'm a noob when it comes to plants (been trying to grow some lavender home), but I think they are very interesting. Somehow I feel that they are speaking to me and it makes me feel peaceful. Flower arrangement on the other hand is beyond my creative comprehension, so all I can say is beautiful work! I love the color palette of your bouquet :)
Lavender is a really good indoor plant! :D If may own space ako, def itll have more plants than furniture, lol. Thanks a lot, Jay!
