Fungi Kingdom

Attached to life appearing in the most usual places, some hang in there longer like this one attached to the bark of the tree giving a display to please the eye. Swirling curls of whites and cream making a portrait of the browns further back.

Mushrooms on the Bark.jpg

A wave of colours standing out in 3D such a pleasure to photograph. Some look outlandish, from another planet may be destructive, others remind us of fairy tales.

Spores on the wind spreading their seed far and wide we never know whether we will see them in the same place again, that is fungi traveling around our earth, one of five million species identified by scientists through DNA testing.

Humans have a love/hate relationship with fungi never knowing which to eat, some are simply delicious when purchased in a store, going out into the countryside we are never that confident to pick and eat.

Why do I see chocolate and cream?? Why? :P
Beautiful find!

Happy Fungi Friday! :))

Great minds think alike @ewkaw I noticed a drizzle of caramel 😊

Indeed :D
I take the caramel too :) Any amount!

A great entry! Before I eat anything in nature that I do not know, I watch if any animals eat it! Fungi? No experience and never tasted! Blessings and upvoted! @joanstewart

My brother used to know local mushrooms, I have no clue from one to the next, so never picked them in the wild @papilloncharity

Wow, what a gorgeous fungi @joanstewart, beautiful shot!

Very few dishes go out of my kitchen without fungi loaded into the recipe even if not called for @lizelle thanks for lovely daily ideas on food, always enjoy your crafty cooking.

Phew, I didn't realise there's five million identified species of mushrooms. Wow, that's quute a number.

Staggering number @therneau I did not realise they are also identified as animal not plant through DNA. Marvelous mysteries in life.

Oh, another interesting point. Marvelous mysteries indeed
