MACROPHOTOGRAPHY - LAND SNAIL

These creatures have always impressed me!

Most of the snails that i have encountered in life have been water dwellers, so finding snails on land always seemed interesting to me. Down here in Arkansas, we often find these little guys, and now with the weather warming up, we are starting to see them again this year. I tried to get some good shots of one yesterday, so here are the results.

UP CLOSE WITH A LAND SNAIL

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Great macro photography @papa-pepper. Snails are pretty cool. We have a plethora of snails on Guam. We have huge Japanese land snails that were brought here during the WWII Japanese occupation. They used them for food. We also have super deadly cone shell snails in the territorial waters. One hit with their harpoon and your a goner...

That light reflection onto the snail shell makes the whole concept too beautiful. Lovely.

very cool pictures, I love watching those guys crawling around in the woods. But they had better stay out of my garden! Could you help me help some less fortunate people help themselves?

wow looking so cute it is.
@papa-pepper always you do new things i appreciate you for this.
photography is awesome. i also like snail but i never seen them for last couple of years . i remember last time seen them in my home garden.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that you liked it!

I'm sure you washed your hands. Many snails are public health threats so please be careful around them.

Agreed. Snails should be handled with care.

Great shot papa weldon sir

Wow...its looks amazing @papa-pepper...

Thank you! I think that the camera and snail did most of the work!

Aww! He's kinda cute! Looks like he's booking it to get somewhere in some of those pics though! Is he fast for a snail? :)

This tour camera is just to perfect. Nice shots

Mollusca specie, these are really small we have giant snails here in Nigeria. They are edible and a good source of protein, nice photography @papa-pepper.

I have seen some photos of those giant ones here on steemit!

This is actually a different breed to the ones i know, Papa. I wonder how you get to see and come in contact with so many species of animals. I lost counts on so many breeds of animals i have learned from you sir. Well done. Nice shot too.

I lost counts on so many breeds of animals i have learned from you sir.

There are a lot of them around here and I like to find them all!

That's impressive sir. Well done. I really look forward to more sir.

Awesome photos, @papa-pepper! If you have lots of these little guys you could make up some tasty escargot!

Your camera is really of high resolution... Waoooo
This pictures are just outstanding with in depth magnification.

Great Post & Photos with creatures as always!
Steem on my friend :)

Yeah, I love it when all the creatures start coming out again!

Yea, land snail is a common thing here. Though not this particular specie. Are those ones edible? Cause the ones we have here are quite tasty.

Your photo quality is awesome. Must have used a high resolution camera and great skill to achieve this. Kudos.

those giant land snails must be delicious, people are always getting busted trying to smuggle them here.

You need to try it. I don't know the right word to express how delicious it is.

Given the risks people are taking to eat them they must be.
They are considered an invasive species here. It may be Hawaii where they are having a huge problem with them right now.

Great photos. The world is full of wonderful critters.

Keep it up!

thank you for sharing your friends, you are a kind person, happy to be able to visit post @papa-pepper

I do not think that it is dangerous. Thanks @rezack!

These snails impressed you @papa-pepper. Your photography impressed ME <3

I looked at your pictures here and was reminded how we are surrounded by the wonderful. A few steps from our back door.

Excerpt from:
Max Ehrmann
Desiderata :
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

A snail, small and dull, yet still so beautiful.

Nice, and good point! Thank you! I looked at your username and was reminded of this song.

This song was part of the inspiration for the name roundhere.

Interesting!

Land snail is called "isawuru" in my local dialect. Nice macrophotography. Have you ever eaten a snail? Snail is delicious

I have eaten some in times past.

this is what type of snail @papa-pepper.
it looks very small and very pretty.

It is pretty small. These kind do not get too large around here.

in our place here, this is given the name of conch leaf,

nice photography on nature and animals

Escargot. :)

Wow, those are some great shots. Which camera and lens are you using? I have a Canon Rebel, but use my cell phone more than anything else lately.

Nice one bro, your post is always very inspiring. I wish I can emulate your steps. Surprisingly my next post is on about how to rears snails 🐌.

😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
You had to take a proof-of-nail picture.
Lol, it's so tiny.
I hardly see such snails anymore.
➕ is Nigeria most snails we see are land snails and they range from big to reaaaally big. (people even cook them)

they make good chook food, toss one into the chook run and watch the reaction. Wait untiil you find them in you new garden eating all the new shoots off the seeds that will feed the family, then try it.

wow...!!!!!amazing work friend

wow...!!!!!amazing work friend

Ok... That snail was DEFINITELY throwing up gang signs... Do you think he and the frog roll with the same crew..?

While we all appreciate these amazing images, I think you need to focus on less threatening wildlife, kapeesh?

be careful.gif
;)

@papa-pepper the pictures are amazing very good quality, what camera are you using to capture this awesome pictures? I need what ever camera your using because my pictures suck compared to yours.

Nice snail. Some time ago we stayed with our friends and found here such a grape snail. It was so big, even without macro photography

IMG-20150517-00081.jpg

You keep proving your self with how blessed and handy you can be with that camera 📷..

Just look how you captured the cute, 🐌 snail .

By the way, happy Sunday Sir, to you and your beautiful family.

The snails have different species, this one's shell is flattened to the base.
And it seems less slimy and lighter in body colour.

hello @papa-pepper, I am very impressed with your photo and very inspire me to do the same. Although I have not been able to do it well, at least I've tried it. I took pictures using only a smartphone because that's all I have, I don't mean to send SPAM here, but if you are willing to see what I do and give a little comment, it really makes me happy.

Here's what I got

Interesting subject

Great photos, I don't get it why people hate snails so much. Yeah they can be annoying for your garden, but they are part of the ecosystem.

Actually love the color of these
