Right in the middle of all sorts of work, it suddenly becomes time to stop!
It's been happening more and more frequently these days, thanks to steemit. It's what I call "the pause." Today "the pause" happened because of Monster Truck the Pepper. We were hard at work moving some rocks when suddenly the boy saw, and captured, a Little Brown Skink. This stuff happens all the time anyway and breaks up the work routine a bit, but the customary break to enjoy it is longer these days thanks to steemit.
These days we've got to take some photos and enjoy the moment more thoroughly. Having such an amazing outlet to share life, events, thoughts, and photos on is a huge blessing to us. We enjoy every moment of it. Anyway, before I showed off these new macro shots I thought I'd share those thoughts. I hope that many of you can agree!

This is a common type of lizard around here and it's so amazing that the kid can hold it. We believe here it's a harmful lizard, so we avoid it and kill it whenever we see it
This kind is harmless to us, and mostly just eats a lot of bugs.

They are super fast, but we've got a lot of practice!
I envy you. Most of my life photography was EXPENSIVE. Today it's basicly free...you can take pictures, videos even, of you life and most especially your kids.
When you get old and grey...you'll treasure them.
Memory is so fallable.
Yeah, I've learned the joy of photos already, a lot of my memories already come from photos that I looked at. I do like the digital age; take 100 photos, pick the best five, delete the other 95, try again. Way easier than film.
I have a phobia for anything with multiple legs that crawls. Your boy is very brave. I cringed just looking at it.

These clips are pretty outstanding @papa-pepper. Thse lizards are generally very shy in my country and extremely difficulat to caught. You must have been very patient to get so close with the camera. How did you do it sir?

Great diversion with your boy! One of my pet lizards. Roam free in our house! Not a great pic as we usually only see her after dark! This is the smaller one.

Ooh, lizards! I love that. I had a lizard as a kid that I kept in the potato patch. It disappeared one day. I always assumed it got taken by a bird, but I can never really be sure.

I love that about Steemit too. Now I feel compelled to bring my camera every time I go for a walk. I've always liked plants, but I'm finding out that I may have an obsession with them. Now that I've got a decent camera, I'm really getting a kick out of seeing all of the small details in the close-up shots. It's nice to find stuff so close to home that I can write and post about (I usually write about travel).
Now I just need to find some animals so I can join in on one of your combination photography contests.

Seems like Moster Truck Pepper is a chip off the old block. Loves all kinds of animals, is not afraid to work and likes to play too. An awesome son!
