We shall manifest the $8 Steem. We have to envision it. It helps I guess to burn some candles, balance your chakras and pay homage. Whatever your tools are let's do this!
Here is your mission if you choose to accept it.
Write Steem and $8 on a piece of paper, take a snap shot, upload it in the comments for a chance to earn 8 Steem in prizes, to be distributed however I like. If you want to go big make a #makesteemeightagain post and share your methods for manifesting the Steem price.
We need to channel all of our energies on the number 8.

I couldn't initially place what this reminded me of, but I realized it reminds me of the writing/ symbology used in the movie The Ring (which is really scary/ good if you like that kind of thing). Sorry for crahsing into this comment section with a question that is not relevant to the post, but I need a bit of advice from you.
I know you've been adopting minnows in the past and I would br greatful if you could give me any tips concirning that matter.
I'm planning on adopting minnows for a week/ month. I've been reading other posts, but I'm still not sure about a lot of things.
I would let possible participants write a post about why they want to be adopted. That's about the only thing I'm sure of.
For the adopted minnow, I would be open to answer all question, and give them at least two 50% posts a day (or maybe one 100% upvote a day.) I would resteem a couple of his post to give him more exposure. Maybe give a small delegation... I'm not sure what else I can do.
But I'm not sure which level of minnows would benefit most from such an initiative. IMO, I should target users with 300-480SP, but I don't know what the effect of such a support program would be.
Adopting them for a week would be too short to make a differencd, I think. 2 weeks? A month?
And I've been thinking about criteria I have to set up. For example post regularly (but what is regularly?) Original and quality content,...
I even wonder if I can make it niche-based: since I don't know a thing about for example programming or technology, I think it is hard for me to determine whether the content is good or not.
Sorry for all the questions, but I know you are experienced ïn this, and I'm really curious how it turned out for both you and the minnow and whether you can give me some tips on how the make the best out of it. Maybe there are some other things I need to take into consideration?

I'm happy to hear you are going to adopt a minnow! When I did it, my goal was to find a minnow that I thought was interesting, made great content and was fun. The thought was to give her/him visibility and hope her content spoke for it's self.

^ That was the first time I did it formally, but since then I still do it quietly. The idea is to give them visibility without creating dependence (although I joked about it)
@brandyb was a great minnow, her graphic art and promotion materials were better than my own.
I'm still glad I did it and @brandyb and I had a lot of fun with it.
I quit doing it publically because in order to give visibility I had to promote the posts. Many saw this as using the minnow to promote myself. (Even though they seemed to miss I promoted many of her posts as well.)
It was a fun project and I think we both got some good things out of it. I didn't grow the project because it got kind of awkward with it being a win/win situation. Another group wanted to "Take it Over", so I just stepped back and it faded away.

Thanks for the explanation. I did some further thinking and I think I'm going to stick to what I am doing now: give a small delegation to a couple of minnows, and offer them some informal support. This way I can help multiple people at a time.
Still, I'm not going to let go of the idea of an adoption yet - it sounds like fun :0)

I had some ideas that were probably better than this but they would have been disturbing for anyone without my sense of humor but I think this is okay. If you look closely the little man has a tiny bottle of liquor in his hand lol.
