The Steemtopia Network of Learning UPDATE - More newbies added!

in #makesteemitgreat-again7 years ago (edited)

The Steemtopia Network of Learning is happy to provide another update for Steemians that want to share their knowledge and skills in different areas of life to help other Steemians. SNL is also proud to partner with the #newbieresteemday initiative, @steemgigs, @steemfreelancers, @steemfreepress and individuals who wish to share their knowledge and skills with the rest of the Steemit community.

First I want to share with you some of the exciting things I have been hearing and learning about this week...

News

It's all fun and games!

The #newbiegames is in full swing and I would like to thank all the people that are actively participating by creating and playing games. There are some very good people behind this and it is all for the benefit of supporting new comers to the Steemit community:

Don't forget to also check out the featured games of the week where there will be newbie nickels for everyone:

Brushing up on Markup

While trying to create some games for the initiative, I had to brush up on my own post formatting and so I dound some good links that newbies might be interested in (if you know of more please let me know):

Wiki page for all things Steem related

If you find the FAQ pages for Steemit a little bit tough going, there is another good resource available without having to trawl through heaps o findividual posts at @steemcenterwiki:

The quest for a more positive Steemit

Something that I am very happy to hear about this week is @fulltimegeek's quest to make the Steemit community a much more positive experience for everyone, but it is a big job and will need all the support he can get:

A Steemit Makerspace

Another exciting idea this week comes from @thatsweeneyguy who is very active in many Discord groups and wants to establish a makerspace for Steemians to collaborate and create:

Reminders

There are some good promotions happening over at the @smartcash team that I read about through @simplifylife's feed and I have also added him to the list of teachers for STEM category (I recommend checking out @steemstem posts as they are high quality and very educational):

Thanks to @amariespeaks who has connected me with @wizardave, I have also considering creating a better space out of steemit for this initiative so if this is something you would like to see please let me know. One potential space outside of Discord might be jabi4Steemit, there are more details about it here:

FINALLY,

Whether you are new to Steemit or an experienced Steemian, if you have a passion or genuine interest in sharing your knowledge and helping other Steemians out there, the Steemtopia Network of Learning is for you! Read about the initiative here:

The learning circles provided for people to list their interests/topics are as follows:

I will continue to update this table with people who have expressed interest in learning and sharing their knowledge in this network:

Do you know anyone who is a wealth of knowledge in any of these areas and would like to share their knowledge with other Steemians? Please let me know and I will feature them in future SNL posts :)

This is the list of people who I think are great teachers on various topics here on Steemit that I will be adding to with each post update:

Oh hey! My name is in there! Thank you so much 😀

I found our brief conversation very interesting, and your wealth of knowledge and interests in many areas equally delightful so I can't help but want to share it around! If there are specific areas that you would like me to highlight please let me know and I will create a proper entry for you :)

Well, I'm flattered and very appreciative. Humanities & Arts is perfect!

I know that you have plenty to offer to the community but I also understand that it is a bit annoying to write these posts with a bunch of names on it. Maybe it's just because many of these people have been around for a while and get lots of notifications on @ginabot, but I hope the new comers would be more interested as this is a good opportunity for them to interact with each other and find people who share common interests. Otherwise they can join the #newbieresteemday initiative or go and play the #newbiegames.

Wow! @fibrefox thank you for featuring me! Question: I like to write about Economics as well, and it doesn't seem to fall into any of those categories. Will more categories be added?

Would you consider economics to be a science? If so then STEM does cover it to some extent perhaps? I will probably have to add new categories if I am getting too many things that don't fit. What would you put Economics as a category?

Oh yes, I think so! I think that will do fine actually. The "real" scientists probably won't like it, but that it so much better haha

I think a real scientist would actually see the science behind economics! Not that I actually see a difference between art & science as I believe it to be both central to the development of humanities and human intelligence :)

Congratulations @fibrefox! You have completed some achievement on Steemit and have been rewarded with new badge(s) :
