A lot of makeup trends on social media are kinda dumb lol but one of them that I enjoy is this "how I sat down vs how I got up" trend. Basically just a 6 second video of a before and after a makeup transformation or your makeup routine. I really like how you can quickly see the results without necessarily having to watch the entire tutorial since that's not we are aiming for.
If for whatever reason you can't see the video, here's a few screenshots from the video. I was creating an Amy Lee inspired look from her My Immortal music video. That song keeps popping in my head recently and I remembered how much I love her look there. I mean, Amy Lee's makeup in general is so badass haha.
This is a very short video since apparently social media sites' algorithm nowadays prefer "low effort" short videos so I wanted to gain exposure by joining trends. I will have a quite longer version of this which will be more than a minute (still short!) but it won't be this flashy short lol. The whole point of the trend really is just a very quick transformation.
Anyway, I had fun editing this since I also had a phase where I was just editing videos in the past so that skill got really useful now. I like matching it with the sound and all. :P
I also uploaded them on Instagram and Tiktok which I specifically made for makeup short videos since I don't think I will be making long videos for that. My Youtube account will still going to be mainly for gaming stuff while IG and Tiktok will be for makeup.

Girl, you don't need any makeup to look gorgeous; 💋 however, I will say your eyes really do "pop" after applying eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliner.

Aww thank you! I think nobody ever needs makeup, but it's so fun to play with it especially when you can change looks, moods, etc. This smokey eye really is amazing and I am happy I learned this skill, cos before I would attempt to do it, I would just look like a panda hahaha.

The main thing about smokey eyes is that it has to be concentrated from the eyes and becomes less visible outwards. Like, it goes soft the farther it is from the eyes because if it's sharp all the way to the edge it's gonna look like a black eye or panda eyes haha. With the eye liner, I suggest you use an eyeshadow first and not start with a pencil or a liquid eyeliner cos those are harder to use. It is also very important to know which angle the wing should go, even I still have a hard time figuring out the best angle for me and of course another challenge is to make them even for the both eyes. 😅 I guess the best thing to do is practice it then you'll get used to it in no time.
Another thing is you need to have a good waterproof eyeliner if you want to put eyeliner on the waterline. Doesn't matter if it's a cheap brand or an expensive one, as long as it's waterproof, the makeup won't get messy. I used to hate eyeliners because after an hour it would smudge and I'd look like I was punched or something til I realized the eyeliner and waterproofness really does matter.
These are awesome tips and noted. Looking like I am a ghost is the reason why I don't do eyeliner but will try finding the waterproofed one and pencil, since my hand is shakier with liquid liner. I am also ordering some bold color shades to try as I am often doing natural brown and it gets a lil boring :D
Haha yeah it does get boring sometimes! If black liners are too strong for you, you can try a dark brown instead. The one I use nowadays are dark brown and they can never go wrong. But yeah, a waterproof one is a must
