Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohammed took oath as the Prime Minister. His oath was held sometime before 10pm on local time.
Mahathir took over as the world's oldest and the seventh Prime Minister of Malaysia. In the elections held on Wednesday, the ruling party led by Prime Minister Rajiv Nazak has defeated the Pakatan Harapan Alliance.
Malaysian King Sultan Muhammad Fifth was sworn in on Tuesday at 9:56 pm local time at the capital Kuala Lumpur to Mahathir.

Mahathir said on Thursday at the press conference that his wife Anwar Ibrahim's wife, Dr. Wen Azizah will be appointed as Deputy Prime Minister.
Mahathir, who served as the Malaysian Prime Minister from 1981 to 2003, remained the sole non-permanent prime minister. On Wednesday, Mahathir's alliance won 113 of 222 seats.
