Apparently there seems to be some bad code in swirling around the Bitcoin world, but this is nothing new.

There are benefits to open source obviously, and avails us the opportunity to see what these people are actually doing. But one of the problems is, that open source often comes along and part and parcel with a community type of building.
@utopian-io also is an open source project based on Steem blockchain, and it has a bunch of developers contributing and working really hard to produce something really good.

But after seeing this news, is kind of intriguing that people can also use that open source to sneak in by programming their malicious codes and hack you.
And you probably know that, sometimes some of the people in the community could be malicious in intent.

But it's nice that they caught this one.

BitPay shared

“However, the BitPay app was not vulnerable to the malicious code. We are still investigating whether this code vulnerability was ever exploited against Copay users,”

So we need to stay alerted and have that protection if something like this happens.

Don't do anything stupid, don't be transferring anything until everything is updated and make sure that you stay frosty out there.
