I can see this point from both sides but I seen this point mainly from the individuals have been victimized by this Marauder.
And they absolutely got what they deserved for making the decision to do what they did.

You might want to read up on things before you decide to reference them.
During the breakdown of Law and order when you do not have a police force to respond. Public humiliation and corporal punishment are the only options because obviously you don't have the option to incarcerate them or go through the criminal justice system proceedings.
Or you could always just go with the death penalty. Because in quite a few areas that's exactly what they would get and if you want to go for Sharia law and be all inclusive that would mean that these criminals get a limb hacked off..
Honestly enough in that light I would absolutely go for getting tied to a pool and smacked around a little bit as opposed to getting executed or permanently maimed....
You can argue for the criminal all you want however the criminal made the decision to commit those crimes and was obviously stupid enough to end up getting caught.
