Welcome to our Garden of Eden!!! [Photographs of my medical cannabis garden]

in #marijuana8 years ago

Today I went out to the garden to water my plants and decided that I would share some of my babies with the community. I am working with two other medical patients to have a garden with a total of 18 legal cannabis plants.

My two partners are working under Mark Herer, who is Jack Herer's son that took over the business his father laid the foundation for. All of our strains are genetics directly from the Mark Herer crew.

The strains that we are working with are Girl Scout Cookies, which is an OG Kush and Durban Poison hybrid cross with an incredible full-body high; Dog Walker, a balanced hybrid bred by mating Albert Walker OG and Chemdawg 91 to create a wonderful focused, cerebral high; Berry Cinex (3rd Gen Cinex - they kept getting confused with the plants so they gave the 3rd generation a new name), a hybrid of created with Cinderella 99 and Vortex, allowing for an uplifting, energetic, and creative mindset; Cherry Alien (Alien Pi), born by crossing Cherry Pie (Cherry Kush) and Alien Kush F2, creating a very powerful knock-out high; and Orange Cream Soda, which has little information on it as a strain other than it is unknown/legendary status.

We are feeding our plants with Botanicare Bloom Soil mix, Liquid Karma, and Cal-mag. I would have preferred to stick with microbial feedings, but we were not able to get our plants into the ground until July, and my partners who are the ones funding most of this endeavor were avid about using bottle fed nutrients. I overstand that using water-soluble nutrients destroys ecosystems: its not my decision and we use minimal organic nutrients.

I hope you enjoy our garden as much as I do!

And a shot of the full garden to top it all off. Some of our plants were stunted and so we put them in the front were the shade hits earliest, most of them are Dog Walkers and Cherry Aliens.

My fiancé and I get on Steemit specifically to see your posts. The funny thing is I got on here, saw this article, thought it was AWESOME and really cool to look at, so I went to see who wrote it. Imagine my surprised laugh when i saw it was the Mage! Great article!

Heh that is rather amusing. I love when things like that happen. I appreciate your support, its good to know people enjoy my writings. Thank you!

What a beauty! Very nice!! I'm currently tending to my own little CBD Therapy grow. It is true that gardeners live longer lives, so keep vegging!

CBD is very helpful with so many different ailments. Next year I'd like to have a couple of CBD rich strains, perhaps Harley Quinn or Charlotte's Web. And I absolutely believe gardeners live longer, they're not just sitting on their asses with a diet coke! ;D

CBD is AWESOME!

Nice garden! Keep us updated throughout the flowering cycle. Its fun to watch those buds grow!

Thank you :D I will be certain to keep an update going. I haven't posted much about the initial grow, but its been a pain in the ass getting everything licensed and in a legal site. We were renegading on a friend's property, but there became a property dispute and so we high tailed it out and found some legal property where we were able to license 18 plants. The laws for growing this year have changed significantly. It used to be that any grower could grow for four patients with no limit on the amount of growers at one location, and a limit of 48 plants per grow site. Now grow sites are limited to 12 plants - two medical cards - if they are in city limits and 48 only if they are outside of city limits. As well, there are lots of new fees that were not associated with the medical community until this year.

Interesting! Well done on jumping through all the hoops and getting it done. Looks like you'll finally be able to reap some rewards in a couple months!

Man, its been rough though haha. I look forward to harvest! Next year we have everything in place from setting up this year. We'll have 10' + tall plants next season. Starting them indoors halfway through winter, of course. :P

That's a beautiful Garden of Eden you're nurturing. Bless the medicine!

Bless! With Fibromyalgia I would be in extreme agony every day if I didn't have ny medicine.

Glad you enjoy our garden. :D

I'm amazed at how thick the stocks are. Wonderful gardens. All the plants look vibrant. Thanks for the tour. :)

;) Secret trick of the trade I learned. When in vegetative phase you want to do what I have coined "pinch && roll" each of the stalks and branches.

You take the stalk between your thumb and forefinger and literally pinch and roll the stalk between your fingers, pressing just enough to where you feel a slight popping in the plant. What you are doing is allowing for the phloem and the xylem to become larger through repeated trauma, similar to what a weight lifter is doing to bulk up. The xylem allows for water to be carried throughout the plant from the roots, while the phloem is a sap that contains macro and micro nutrients to be dispersed.

I've been doing a little bit of research in the field of plants since I've begun to grow. This is why I mentioned the microbial feedings over the bottle fed nutrients. Bottle fed nutrients, whether they are synthetic, salt based, or organic, they still are in plant uptake form already. This in turn causes the micro-environments to be displaced as the microbes are the ones who break down organic matter into inorganic forms that are readily taken in by the plants. Since the plants need the microbes to break down organic matter to feed them, the plants in turn have produced a way of attracting and feeding these microbes with what are known as exudates.

When you begin to feed with nutrients in the form that plants can readily absorb then the plants no longer produce the exudates and the microbes die off or seek food and shelter elsewhere. It can take centuries to build these ecosystems. The strongest and most diverse microbial ecosystems are found in old growth forests where the fungi and bacteria can reach unfathomable numbers in just a teaspoon.

Sorry for the tangent heh

Thank you for your extremely valuable response. I greatly appreciate this level of detail and will be putting this information into action in the near future. You are the 2nd person this week who highly recommends microbial feeding over liquids and your plants speak for themselves. I would like to see your response as a separate blog post. Your information is worth more than gold and people need a chance to read it. Thank you so much.

supposed to be very profitable business according to a business mag.

If that's what you're into. There are lots of certifications necessary to grow and sell legally. Even more if you're processing concentrates.

BEAUTIFUL PLANTS!!

You take very good photos, thanks for posting them up. :D
