The Magical Butter guy lives in Seattle. I met him. Cool business he has. This is a great post. Thanks. We just got 5 lbs. of honey from the guy who parked his bees here on our apple orchard. We got everything pollinated and the honey too. Doesn't get any more local then that.

Thanks for sharing this story. I think it's going to become more popular to keep backyard bees as part of general gardening initiatives. I plan to add a hive to my backyard in the Spring. I know a person who does this. He goes around and helps people establish hives and learn how to care for the bees.
