According to an article posted in the UK, a leading rabbi declares cannabis as kosher if used for medical reasons. Recreational use is still forbidden, though. However, Israel is really progressive when it comes to cannabis. A contact informed me that not only do they allow people with various infirmities to use cannabis medically, and the government actually gives their veterans cannabis for use with PTSD and chronic pain. Could you imagine getting a few ounces mailed to you every so often?
I could get used to that!
As this movement continues to move forward, I am amazed at the things developing. When I think about how cannabis is declared kosher for Israel, then I think about the Bible.
Strange, huh?
Israelites get their name from being the sons and daughters of Israel. Israel was the son of Isaac. Isaac was the son of Abraham. Israel used to be called Jacob, but God changed his name after he wrestled with an angel...or G-d himself, depending on which theologian you ask (Genesis 32-35).
The New Testament teaches us that those found in Christ are adopted into the family of Abraham; therefore, sons of Abraham, and sons of Israel (Galatians 3:29). So, even if you self-identify as Christian, medical cannabis is kosher for you by proxy. I could understand your reservations since the laws of Israel belong to the ones that live within the borders of Israel, but since when did family know borders? I think about that alot, too, but I might just save that for a later date.
In conclusion, the rules and culture surrounding cannabis are changing, not just in the US, but around the world. We live in exciting times, I just hope that the party and historical momentum isn't sidelined by a war, although a revolution might be in order. Time will tell.
Either way, I'm with Israel.
Thats interesting. It very well should be except among the church similar to how wine is. Basically intoxication alters reality enough to reach a higher level of spirituality. Dope! Please follow back! ill be sure to stay up on more weed reads!!!
Im sorry, israel laws still consider cannabis as a dengerus drug, & the medical users going through hell to get their prescriptions.
