Hello Steemit Users! Being a medical marijuana user since a longtime, I have always been wondering if it might cause some major health or side effect problems. So I have been doing some research on the internet and I found this article from Hightimes.com (I'll put the link of the source at the end), so I'll let you know what they are saying and I'll give you my opinion on this.
This is what I found:
"A new collaborative research study has determined that cannabis consumption is not associated with major health problems such as lung function, systemic inflammation and metabolic health. However, cannabis consumption was associated with poorer periodontal health."
So clearly they have determined that it doesn't cause any major health problem, however it might cause some problem at a lower scale.
They decided then to identify a statistical association between smoking cannabis and any major health problems, here is what happened:
"Researchers from Arizona State University, Duke University and the University of Otago in New Zealand performed a longitudinal study on a group of 1,037 New Zealanders. Starting at the age of 26, scientists tracked the habits and health of the participants from the age of 18 through 38.
All in all, scientists could not identify a statistical association between smoking cannabis and any major health problems, except periodontal health. Tobacco-smokers had poorer health all around: reduced lung function, poor metabolic health and an increased risk of periodontal disease. Though this study represents a major “I told ya so” for pot advocates who have always claimed cannabis does not cause any major health problems, but the mainstream media has put its blinders on the one negative aspect found in this study: periodontal health."

To conclude, in my opinion the media will always put the negative side of the situation on the front line but according to this study, cannabis seems completely safe to me. So what do you think?

The federal government is ridiculous, they put neurotoxin in the water saying that it's good for teeth. Now they want to try to say Cannabis is bad for teeth. The reality is in America at least, the vitamins and nutrients required for teeth to heal themselves are absolutely absent. If anything is impacting the tooth health of americans its a deficient diet. Not Cannabis.
I truly agree with you! thumbs up! :)
