A key factor here may be the inverse square law. These fixtures are rated at 1000 par at 6 inches from canopy, so would that mean 9000 par at 2 inches? Combine this with a light mover and plants could still receive an even amount of coverage with large increase in lighting, however heavy pruning and trellising would be necessary for light penetration from these 400 watt lights.

It may also be possible with some of the new LED fixtures, however induction seems to be more cost effective for vertical growing due to illumination from both sides of the fixture. Not only are LEDs more expensive, but it would take two of them back to back to illuminate both sides of a vertical garden.

I don't know enough about these induction lights (real world examples) to tell. 40lbs seems a bit much. The old cage grows with (2) 1K hps lamps were pulling upwards of 11lbs or more... that was back in the late 90's-early 2000's. Right before overgrow and cannabisworld were shut down.

This setup is similar, though much less efficient space wise.
