Currently in Venezuela there is an unprecedented economic and humanitarian crisis and the month of March 2018 has not gone unnoticed because despite the increasing rate in its price during the months of December 2017, January and February 2018, it made us think that the The price would rise, but did not change significantly in recent weeks, even down from its historical peak of 239 thousand, to 205 thousand during this month, and is currently starting this week at 226 thousand bolivars per dollar.

Many without what one could say knowledge in economics have speculated and even many sources have indicated possible reasons that could be considered valid in other situations but apparently have obviated the behavior of the black dollar in Venezuela of past years.

I have read that one of the possibilities is that as the purchasing power of ordinary citizens and since the majority of Venezuelans receive a salary of 1,307,646 bolivars between what is the salary 392,646 bolivars and the food bonus amounting to 915,000 bolivars Which generates that according to the dollar to today 19/03/2018 be 5.77 dollars per month, which sure will vary for tomorrow. And therefore, and because of inflation in Venezuela, people prefer to obtain food that can buy dollars, which makes some sense, but this is not unique to March, so you could say it is wrong, since then the price had stalled long ago since the minimum salary of the Venezuelan left some time ago to cover the basic needs and for which a long time ago these stopped affecting the price of the parallel dollar or black dollar in Venezuela.

So what are the real reasons?

First, in February, the exchange agreement number 39 was established through the Central Bank of Venezuela, which established the new rules for the DICOM System dated 02/14/2018.

Which first generated expectations in those who actually buy dollars (legal persons) since it put dollars on the table at a much lower price than could be obtained in the secondary market of much more value to change. Of course, this market is limited and therefore does not significantly affect the price of the dollar. In fact, this is one of the reasons, but not the only one. Well then, what is the second reason?

The payment of taxes and / or corresponding taxes such as the ISRL (Income Tax), every year as in most countries (I would say all) companies are not exempt from paying their taxes for the concept of profit for their economic activity within that country and Venezuela is not the exception to that rule. As we have previously determined, it is the legal entities that really move the supply and demand of dollars since these are the main acquirers of this and other currencies. So we can say that as Venezuelan companies, are focusing most of their bolivars to pay their taxes whether they are national and / or municipal in order to continue exercising their economic activity within the country, limits the amount of dollars they can acquire, for This is currently a stagnation or paralysis of the black dollar. Something that has usually happened in previous years and people just need a little research to realize it.

Therefore it must be affirmed that this will not last forever and that it is probable that after the payment of the taxes and the economy in Venezuela begins to warm up, and likewise the DICOM exchange system can not supply the currency market, there will only be a predictable result and is that again the black dollar will go up.
