Hello steemians!
Happy Friday! Today is gonna be my first post regarding my Morocco experience, it was so amazing, I love it and can’t wait to be back, I want to discover more!
For this Market challenge, I will present to you my experience at Chouara Tannery and the leather shops in Fes. This city has three tanneries, but the most popular is Chouara Tannery, built in the 11th century. I knew I wanted to visit it more than 10 years ago when I first discovered Morocco while watching the Brazilian soap-opera El clone.
This tannery is the largest and it's definitely a must visit place, so don't miss it. There is no admission, you can see it from the terrace of the leather shops, the views are great, but beware of the strong smell!! You will receive some mint, so it’s not that tragic. We were lucky because it was raining and probably the smell was diluted by rain. We had a local guide with us so it was easy to find it after our tour to the medina. Thanks to my latest trip I will have more to share in the following weeks in this challenge.

In the shop next to the tannery you will receive an introduction of the whole process and how this is a family business (from father to son) and why the smell is so bad, I don't want to be a spoiler. Don’t forget you are in Morocco so you should haggle over the price, the goal should be 1/3 of the initial price, anyway the prices are great. Here you can find a variety of wonderful and colorful products from footwear to luggage, so if you have money and a large luggage you shouldn’t miss the shops!
Because I had only 2 small luggage I bought only one small and red backpack for 120 dirhams aka 12 EUR, unfortunately, I couldn’t wear it because it still had a strong smell, but after one week it’s better.
If you are sensitive to the smell, you can shop leather products directly from the medina, but remember, you should haggle!

What a wide range of items it has this tannery. I heard that in Morocco they made up a lot of leather , also cloths and other wovens.
I am very happy for what you can get to cities and countries, it is wonderful, if the smell is strong in the Moroccan I prefer not yet, since I would not tolerate being a minute, I am sensitive to smells. Friend, I'm pregnant!
