Made Of Wood for MarketFriday

in #marketfriday6 years ago

Breaking my habit of posting ceramics, today I'm going to show you some amazing sculptures and other products made of wood.

Who likes sculptures knows how much hard work is behind these wonderful work of arts. These sculptures are not cheap exactly because the hours of hard work is reflected in the final price.

Very detailed work can be seen here, which makes the artworks more valuable. Doing portraits is not exactly an easy job, I can tell you from experience.

If I were to choose, I'd pick the hunter from the left.

These flower compositions are also nice. The upper one with the painted flowers is a bit strange, I'd rather pick the other. It appears to be more natural.

The emblem of Transylvania.

This is another beauty I'd love to have on my wall.

This is the work station of the artist. Looks at that piece of wood on the table. That's how it starts.

Thank you very much @pixresteemer!

Amazing works. I liked the eagles and the flowers. What did you buy?

I bought some but not sculptures, these are so expensive.

Yes, I know they are expensive but totally worth it. The amount of work and the final result deserve recognition. Unfortunately we cannot always afford them. 😔

Exactly, well said my friend! This is a good investment, I know, it holds the value in time but we are talking about hundreds of € or $ here.

I know. The same situation as we have with other traditional handmade items. Nowadays it is very expensive to follow the traditions. What a paradox!

Wood is so hard to work with, especially when it is so detailed and the details are very small. I love wooden sculptures and I have to agree with you on the Hunter sculpture in picture number three and a closer shot in picture number four.

There are so many here that I would want. The Eagles are amazing, their feathers are so very intricate and take a very light, sure hand to make them look so realistic. The flowers- well you know I love flowers, but, like you, I wouldn't care for the painted ones, but rather, the plain wood so that I can see the details.

This was a very special post and the man is a true artist with amazing talent. Thank you for taking the time and effort to put together this post - and for always making them amazing!

I knew you would like it, this kind of art is always well liked. Looks like we have similar taste 🙂
Thank you again Denise for always supporting my work, it means a lot to me!

These wood sculptures are amazing. So detailed, I would love to get one of these myself. I agree with you on the hunter on photo #3, cool looking and very detailed.
I'm trying to see if that's a Pith hat. I've always been fascinated with the 19th century Africa big game hunters. I don't really like hunting in practice just for trophies but I kind of see them as adventurers when the "Dark Continent" was mysterious and they would come back with fantastical tales of strange lands and peoples with monstrous animals and daring do.
Guess I went on a tangent there. Ha! Overall, good post! Love it.

Many thanks for the nice comment, I'm glad you like them.
