RE: Scottish Highland Games for Market Friday

in #marketfriday5 years ago

Definitely gets the Scottish drop of blood or two going over here still Denise, we have annual Highland Gathering with pipe bands and dancers competing from all around the country in April every year. Funds raised by Round Table for charities. https://southcoastsun.co.za/137126/excitement-mounts-54th-highland-gathering/

Highland Games have recently been re-introduced with the first event happening during October last year, perhaps one day they will marry the two together again. it too is a fund raising event. https://southcoastsun.co.za/150977/don-yer-kilts-amanzimtoti-highland-games/

Durban Military Tattoo is another event in July holidays that is exceptionally popular with strong pipe band presence normally https://www.travelground.com/attractions/kzn-military-tattoo

Have attended 1st and 3rd over the years, not recently I must be honest so thoroughly enjoyed seeing your very traditional affair where you live.

How awesome to use them as fundraisers, Joan. We always get a big crowd at these events, so putting them together is sure to be a win.

A Tattoo is an event that I haven't been to in years! My dad loved it. I was so happy to hear how many people have been to one and will be going back to the Highland Games. I think this exactly the kind of fun that we need to be having, instead of our youth sticking their noses on cell phones or other devices.

It used to be they were on the phone too much, not they opt not to even talk but to text or surf!!! Thanks fo much for taking the time to stop by and say hello and I'll check out those links! Thank you!

#MarketFriday loves you!
