Marketing a broad industry anyway, you can certainly have fun in the role just depends what type of duties you're performing.
Creating and running social media campaigns is pretty interesting, if you have the creative skills you could also be creating the ad sets which is fun
Or you could be doing mainly SEO work which is less fun but more analytical problem solving
50k a yr is pretty standard for starting at a marketing firm or marketing position
You can always do freelance work too which pays better but more responsibility
If you get good at it, running your own freelance marketing firm can be pretty lucrative if you're actually good and get results because you'll attract a stream of clients that'll sign on for the long term and pay you monthly etc, SEO one of the best fields for this but also very crowded market
