All the content in the world is double every 11 hours. Comparing this to the year 1300, where it took 100 years to double all the available content, shows you how insane today's environment is.
As a content marketer, it's important to become aware of this and figure out the right strategy to promote your cause or your business.
Your content might be amazing, and you might feel an extreme amount of pressure to put your next article out on the internet but I'm here to tell you not to worry...
Every video I produced that I figured would be life-changing.
Every article I've written that I thought was a game-changer.
It wasn't.
My first ever video that I posted, that I felt would be extremely powerful and go viral, did go somewhat viral for someone who doesn't have a following yet and just started out online.
With over 100.000 views, 400 shares, and hundreds of comments and no advertisement budget, I was happy.
Did it change anything? No... A few minutes after, another 10 great video's where showing on people timeline and they already forgot about you.
In order to make something stick, you have to be active every single day. There is no time for taking a break.
So what is the answer?
How do you become relevant in today's hyper-saturated media landscape?
Create more content.
Don't worry too much about the articles you are writing.
Talk about things you actually know and don't worry if the article is perfect. Perfection is the enemy here and as long as you talk about your expertise, you will win.
I challenge myself to blog daily, vlog daily, go live on FB often and just continue to play around.
Try out different styles and see what works.
The more you create, the more experience and feedback you get.
Create, create, create.
And if you don't know what to create, go to Google or youtube and search a topic you are an expert in. Observe the suggested search words. This is what users, i.e. your customers, are searching for.
By creating valuable answers and optimized your searchability, people will find you.
Look at your competitors. What makes their users engage? What are they doing? What type of posts are they making? How are they writing? Do they ask questions? Or maybe not at all...
Run first, then start walking.
When you know what works.
When you know what people like, it becomes very easy.
Go more in depth on the topics that actually pick off.
Quantity plus analytics will show you what you should focus on.
Make sure you track the results of your post.
Focus on how many engagements you get when you ask a question or write and article and use that to build upon that momentum.
Once it's going, keep going.
There is no one-hit wonder.
They are all building blocks.
One milestone at a time.
Over time, you will reach the success you are looking for.
Content marketing is a game of patience and persistence.
It's a long-term strategy that can help you build a major brand or just create a solid income.
However, no matter what product or message you are selling.
If you don't adapt to today's environment, you will not succeed.
What way are you promoting your business, product or service right now?
Thank you very much! :-) I appreciate it. Looking forward to write more, I love steem and this community.
