Elon Musk recently unveiled a Falcon Heavy super-rocket picture he wishes to transport people to Mars in 2018, "Discover."
Currently, the ship is in the assembly stage in the Space X hangar in Florida. The huge rocket will carry out the first flight tests next month.
Previously, the strongest missile owned by the US was considered Saturn V, capable of carrying twice as much weight as the United Launch Alliance's Delta IV Heavy in 2004. Unlike the Falcon 9 small missiles, usually used for transportation supplies to the International Space Station, Falcon Heavy is designed to transport people in space.
They will travel inside a Dragon capsule, Space X members wanting to send at least two people per month by 2018. For 2020, Space X wants to transport people to Mars. If this will succeed I believe is a big step ahead of conquering the universe. And not only, just think of the unknowns out there, the new materials that can bump up the science and changing the way of how cities and communities are built. Just something that we cannot fully comprehend now, but which will be a big step for the mankind.
Magnificent. Truly products of a giant, thinking mind.
Life on Mars is going to be a truth...
