The Marvelous Tales Contest
In honor of all the creativity here on Steemit, I'm hosting the Marvelous Tales Contest.
The idea is simple: I give you two words, and you build your tale around these two words. You could write a story, make a comic or video, use a drawing or photo to accompany your tale, or even write a song. You can submit your entry by creating a post dedicated to this contest.
I will be picking the winner based on originality, creativity and entertainment value. Subjected, ofcourse, to my personal opinion, but I try to be as fair as I can!
Last week's results:
Third place
@therovingreader's entry won 0.921 SBD
Second place
@nexusfyre's entry won 1.535 SBD
First place
@bex-dk's entry won 2.764 SBD
I enjoyed reading all of the entries very much. Congrats to the winners!

Closing notes:
- I reserve the rights to disqualify any entry I deem inappropriate.
- Due to the contest being new, the rewards are based on payout of this post. My goal is to change this in the future.
- Rewards, winners and a new contest will be announced once this post is paid out.
- I'd be very grateful if you would mention a link to this post from your entry post (it's not a must!). It's a new contest and anything you could do to help broaden its reach is very much appreciated!

Thank you! I am very happy about this!! My congratulations to @nexusfyre and @therovingreader. Considering the quality of your entries as well, I am sure it was a difficult choice for @playfulfoodie. Either of you could have easily taken the top spot!
You made my work hard this week! I kept thinking "Yes, this will be the winner...", then I read the next one, thinking "Hmm, no maybe this will be the winner...", but then came even more good tales!
In the end, you managed to pull me in the most :-)
Thank you. I am also grateful for the inspiration. I don't think this story would have popped into my head without the combination of the two words mulling around and a thunderstorm that freaked out my border collies!
Aww poor doggies! I'm glad to hear two simple words can inspire people to write up a story like this :-)
Congratulations @bex-dk ! I'm so glad that you took first place. I had a feeling about your entry as soon as I read it. Well done!
Hi @playfulfoodie I like your contests. I see that the tales that are being entered are quit long. Is there a maximum (and a minimum) to the number of words written?
I asked last time. No rules at that point. I think many of us just happen to be the long-winded type.
Thanks @bex-dk
Hi there @marieinamsterdam, I'm glad to hear you like the contest! I currently have no restrictions on words. I might have to add those in the future, depending on the amount of entries, but so far, I'm able to go through all of the stories myself, so I won't limit anyone in their creativity :-)
Thanks @playfulfoodie. I'll keep following your posts but I feel my English is not good enough to write a real story. I didn't read the complete stories (too many words for me!) but I'm under the impression it's fantasy. Is that correct?
It can be anything you want, though most were indeed fantasy tales. Just let your imagination flow and see what comes out, there aren't really any restrictions, except for the two words I provide and the fact that I want a tale. It can be a tale based on modern world aswell.
It's not a problem if your English isn't perfect! I understand plenty of people here aren't fluid in English, so I forgive a lot of typo's, grammar mistakes, etc.
English isn't my mother language either, so it's not like mine is perfect :-)
Thanks, we'll see, maybe #10
Whenever you're ready to try (and when the words of the contest speak to you) :-)
Hey @marieinamsterdam! Your English is good enough. My English as well as creativity both are poor but I still put an entry here. Read it and you will get some motivation when you will find that you can do better (This the whole purpose of my entry anyway 😊).
Fun part is when you submit an entry here, it is read by most of your competitors ...irrespective of the quality of the entry and thus I get a few very very talented writers as my readers.
Waiting to read your entry soon 😊
Thank you for the encouragement @xyzashu I will think about it.
@playfulfoodie, do check out my marvelous tale on leaf and wind in my page. :)
A marvelous tale indeed! I really like it :-)
Thank you so much! I feel honored to place, and congrats to @bex-dx and @nexusfyre on their epic tales. I had a really fun time writing the story and reading everyone else's, so maybe I'll submit another one for this week.
Thank you for entering! I really liked your story and would love to see you enter more often :D
This contest was a blast. Thank you @playfulfoodie for taking the time to organize this. I'm humbled to have my work mentioned on your blog. It is people like yourself that bring the spark to the steemit community. I will definitely participate in your future contests when time allows. Cheers!
Thank you very much for entering @nexusfyre! I really enjoyed your story and I'm glad to hear you had a good time writing it :-)
You are always welcome to enter again, I'd love to read more of your stories!
This contest seems to be very interesting, be a challenge for me @playfulfoodie, I would gladly follow contests that you provided, this will be for my learning how to be a good writer. Thank you for share this post.
I'm glad you like it @herzaseptian! I hope to see an entry of yours :D
Yeah, of course @playfulfoodie, as soon as possible. ;)
Congratulations to the winners!
Thanks @playfulfoodie for the opportunity. Here's my entry.
Marvelous Tales #9 ( The Leaf, A Friend To The Wind)
Friendship with others wouldn't be meaningful without that of the wind. As the days go by, the leaf became lonely, especially when the wind isn't close by. No other friend spent time with her like the wind, not even the gardener that comes around almost everyday. Coming around is not the same as coming close, so in comparison, the wind is closer, talks longer and makes the leaf to dance in amusement from her jokes. They joke about the turbulence of the waves that makes the human mistake it for wind and the true abode of the wind, which many humans still ponder on. The leaf and the wind were inseparable friends until when draught took the leaf away, leaving the wind sad and lonely.
