CTU, Cebu PH. Making their way out to quest to be a Mathematician Of The Year, the contenders stood out on their confidence and tried it all to solve the challenge for their quest that was just held recently at Engineering Building, 404, 9:30 in the morning.
Mathematician Of The Year is an event began and organized by the College Of Engineering- CTU Main Campus in line with its upcoming event- Engineering Days 2018. The event aims to provide students the avenue to reveal their hidden mathematical wizard within their very selves. Furthermore, as Engineering Student, the college has given the aspiring contenders to allow themselves find hint about what it's like to take a board exam. It is also very known that engineers are well-organized and well-rounded when it comes to solving problems such as Mathematical ones that's why I think the college has made this exist.
34 contenders were able to compete and solve for the challenge. They were allowed to solve the given problems within a duration of 1.5 hours which was actually started by 9:40 am and ended up by 11:10 am. This was the elimination round and the deserving top 20 students will then be the ones to proceed to the final round this upcoming February 3, 2018.

EXPERIENCE AS A WATCHER
I was assigned to be a watcher for the first elimination round. As I saw some of my friends and course-mates that made it to assess their Mathematical capability and it also yet made so challenged. As I took a glimpse on the 50-question questionnaire, I think I just can answer a few of them. Some of the questions came from Algebra Applications, Trigonometry, Geometry, Advance Math, Engineering Economy, Probability and Higher Mathematics.
Moreover, the release of the result will then be revealed tomorrow. And whosoever will take their way to the final round are the ones who I think really deserves the slot to be entitled as Mathematician Of the Year 2018.
