Question:
John has 3 taps in his bath. If he only fully opens tap 1 it takes 10 minutes to fill the bath. If he only fully opens tap 2 it takes 15 minutes to fill the bath, and if he only fully opens tap 3 it takes 30 minutes to fill the bath. If John were to fully open all 3 taps how long would it take to fill the bath?
Deadline
The test comes to an end once a winner emerges or at the expiration of this post. Good luck guys.
Tap 1 fills (1/10)th of the tub in a minute
Tap 2 fills (1/15)th of the tub in a minute
Tap 3 fills (1/30)th of the tub in a minute
(1/10)+(1/15)+(1/30)=(3/30)+(2/30)+(1/30)=(6/30)
The three taps will fill the tub in 30/6=5 mins
This is an impressive answer. Congrats.
Thank you
If John opens all 3 taps, the bath would fill in 5 minutes.

me realising that 1/6 is not the same as 1/3 ('o')
You did it the hard way. I just assumed the bath is 30 gal.
