You can describe this as anything BUT exciting. I mean come on...Floyd doesnt engage. He slips punches and circles while controlling distance for 12 rounds, only to give people the illusion he is fighting. He is no more of a boxer than David Blaine. The 'real' fight is next month between 2 actual boxers. That fight will be electric from the start...

Actually, Mayweather is a true boxer. The name of the game is "hit without being hit" - and that is what he does. It may not be the most exciting style, as you say, but it is boxing nevertheless.
If he was less of a boxer than David Blaine he would have been knocked out many a time - yet he hasn't even been beaten by the likes of Corrales, Castillo, Gatti, Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto, Alvarez, Maidana, De La Hoya or Pacquiao.
Don't confuse boxing with fighting.
You make some great points, and rather than split hairs with counter points i will just agree to disagree on most....
Floyd does box in the sense that he avoids getting hit.
From a fans point of view, his style is for the most part un-watchable.
I think pays shell out BIG BUCKS for a PPV event and want to see great fights.
Floyd has not been in a great fight in years...
To be honest, Im sure i am a little bias when it comes to him on a personal level (i have dealt with him and his entorage on many occasions here in Las Vegas).
Lets just say there are many stories here in Vegas about how sh*tty he treats the people he interacts with when the cameras are not around...
Fair comments and well said. I have heard similar comments about what he is like "as a person", and there are plenty of people I would rather watch from a pure entertainment point of view - both in the UFC and in boxing (McGregor being one of them).
Let's just both hope this will be terrific fight.
Regards.
