INTRO TO BLOG|| GET TO KNOW RIONA

What should a first-timer do? Of course, to introduce myself. A pleasant day to each one of you! Riona is my nickname; you guessed my real name! Kidding aside, I would love to share some interesting facts about me and my small, imperfect life.

I grew up with my grandparents, living in the city. I was away from my parents for years as they were very busy with their work at that time to provide for my needs. You know what's funny? When they attempted to take me from my grandparents, I cried and didn't recognize them; I even called my mother "ate," a Bisaya word for my older sister. From that day on, they realize that it's not quite fulfilling on their part. Still, I was able to spend time with my parents and grew older, getting closer to them.

Why did I tell you that?

Family-oriented—that's the type of person I am. I valued my family more than anything. I can sacrifice everything for them, give anything for them, and put them first before all the things. They were my source of inspiration, and my motivation to keep going in life.

For ten long years, we lived in our grandparents' house, and thankfully last year, we were able to move out and start things on our own. We have four members in our family. My adorable and caring mother, hardworking and selfless father, cute little hard-headed younger sister, and of course me. My father is the one at the lead; he has work away from us. My mother is a full-time housewife, taking full care of us. Even though we have fewer members, we never really miss time to be happy and contented.

More likely, I would call myself devoted. I wasn't just a family-centered person; I also love myself for how I socialize with others. Friends are also my source of happiness. They were the ones to give me another kind of attention that was only meant to be given by them. They made me the happiest for years of my life, and words couldn't express how lucky I am to have them.

At sixteen years of age, I experience a lot of unforgettable journeys, leading to discouragement, improvements, embarrassment, and, most importantly, a better life quality. I am currently in my senior year, enjoying and appreciating little things.

Since I was a kid, I unlocked my passion for music. I sing a lot during my free time, boring moments, and almost every second. At thirteen, I learned to play guitar. But the time of discouragement came when I realized that I wasn't good at it, and it took me down. I stop loving music for years. Until last year, I didn't know what happened, why I was put in a place where I shared interests with almost everyone, the place where I thought I could belong. I started to do music again. I learned to embrace it more this time and longed for improvement, which is kind of new for me.

Very conscious of my health, and I do physical activities also. I involved myself in sports, which were for entertainment only in the first place (but I got used to it, so). I play volleyball. I was once part of a school's varsity team where we joined different competitions and won repeatedly. Sadly, it was quite hard to focus on academics while pursuing my dream sport at the same time, so I quit (but I still play whenever I want, though).

Adding up, I loved to draw, paint, design, and do anything that was related to the arts. I dreamed of becoming an architect in the future but things aren't supposed to be the way you wanted it. I spent half of my elementary years joining different drawing competitions (but only won once). I've got to enjoy it, and up until now I never lost interest in the arts.

Time went by; I was introduced to the world of fiction, where I read a lot of fictional stories and got to know different talented authors. I remember the first story I read, which was about high school romance. I've got to admit it, I'm crazy for romantic fiction. Whenever I am reading, I feel like I am a part of it, which is somewhat the reason why I leveled up; I started writing my own stories. Do not expect; I haven't even finished a single story from my hundred drafts. Until now, writing has been my favorite hobby.

I love to be with people who share the same interests as me—special mention to @miyasomi, who introduced me to Hive. Hi @miyasomi! Thank you for introducing me to this platform; it is such a big opportunity for me to start spending my time with useful purposes rather than doing nothing. It is time to take it seriously. Thank you also to mam @dehai for guiding me in this journey.

Honestly, I always thought I was no good. Even when I attempted to write, I always felt like it wasn't good enough to be read by many. There was no time that I wouldn't compare myself with good writers out there. Now that I enter here, I'm unsure if I'd be best, but I will do better. I promise to be consistent and reach expectations not to the maximum level.

I will keep on writing, updating, and sharing as long as I can, for it is not just about writing; it's about improving and expressing myself the way I want. I will share my daily experiences, motivational stories, inspirational moments, and many more. I hope I can make you love reading it and feel the same mood as me. It is my pleasure to entertain you.

As I end this blog, I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that we walk at our own pace and that we must embrace every moment. Let us start to be ourselves even more; it's the greatest way to show appreciation to yourself. This new year, take time to do the things you love; we never know where it will take you.
