So I kind of got into keyboards. Yes, the typing kind for your PC. It started off with me wanting to get a keyboard with a smaller layout, so I would have more space to move my mouse and not slam into it when I move it left. From there it just kind of spiraled out of control. I think for my first keyboard "build" it's serving me well and I really enjoy typing on it daily.
The base keyboard I have is a Royal Kludge rk84.
I chose this keyboard because of the minimal ish 80% layout because I didn't need a numpad, but I still wanted to retain my f1-12 buttons as I use them for control groups in games. Another reason I chose this over other 80% layout keyboards on the market is that my previous keyboard had a usb hub built in, so I really wanted another keyboard that had the same. I usually use the ports for either a controller for Forza Horizon 5, or to maybe charge my phone or headphones. I chose the brown switch version, but very quickly sprung to purchase some aftermarket switches.
I went with the Gazzew Boba U4T's as the switches and I do enjoy them. I personally like a tactile switch, and have been on Cherry MX Browns for the past decade or so. Moving from those to these on this keyboard was really a huge upgrade. It seems like the tolerances in switches with stem wobble and such have gotten much MUCH better over the years.
