Hey @cerebralace
I was wondering how strict you are on the rules of only wanting images made in Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop. This software is prohibitively expensive, so not only does it cut out a lot of people who would enter your competition if they could, but it also increases the likelihood that the logos are made with pirated software.
Would you accept images made in open source alternatives, such as GIMP or InkScape? Both of these are used by many professional and can make high quality vector images. Would you, for example, accept a .svg file made on one of those platforms?
Thank you!
Originally, I had asked for logos of 1000 x 1000 pixels in size and created in either .jpg or .png format. However after meeting with the rest of the MedBlock team, we decided to look for logos that would be vector based and created in either Illustrator or Photoshop. This was to ensure that we receive professional high quality logos that can resized without any change to resolution. While 3 entries will be selected to win prizes, only the first place winning logo will be selected and used as the official logo of MedBlock.
We expect that many designers will be already using Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop. Judging from the awesome 20+ entries in the contest so far, that certainly seems to be the case. However if the price of the software is an issue, we recommend that you use a trial version of the software or seek out a friend who already has a full version installed on their computer.
