Nowadays, anyone who has a minimal critical sense knows well how the media perform their duties, sometimes misinterpreting the right to qualitative information that every democracy needs to guarantee its citizens. The truth is that because of the fear of not being involved in censorship in some cases, what is to happen, different states give the media light green, to publish almost everything, without official confirmation of their authenticity.
Freedom of information is a fundamental guarantee that every state of law and democracy must accept formally and practically. However, the lying journey of some news that is being published invites us to consider whether there is truth in what we read in newspapers, magazines, and websites.
In the absence of a clear and strict regulation in this regard as well as of a social debate on how to falsify false information, below we are publishing some of the strategies used by the media to falsify information and sell newsletters. From the moment that no one prevents him from trying, at least be yourself capable of not being deceived by them.
Create a spin
In fact, the media are experts in making news, for the sole purpose of citizen distraction and increasing sales, as well as creating smoke that can distract people from their real problems. Therefore, at this point, there is an entrepreneurial side of the media in the purely lucrative aspect, and another side that is more political, which affects the protection of the hidden interests of the sectors that support the media in question.
Buzzing a Problem
In this respect, what the media are doing is modifying the reality of the simplest and banal events, trying to serve half-truth or gossip interests. For example, we see the very popular news that Cosmopolitan magazine published in 2016 on Zodiac. They said science has demonstrated the falsehood of Horoscope as we know it, thanks to a recent NASA discovery, at a time when the only thing that did the latter was to suggest that if astrology had a scientific basis, some the signs of the Zodiac would have to change the position. NASA had to retreat.
Abuse with courtesy
The media use different strategies to influence the public. Among the best, it is the presentation of languages and cultures in the counsels that spread, in the efforts to persuade people. This method works very efficiently especially in young people. Few would understand an announcement in Brazil, produced in Portuguese in Portugal, although they speak the same language, differences in everyday language produce a sort of reluctance that mass media can not ignore to persuade people.
Making the public feel guilty
This is one of the most widely used strategies in the journalism and information world. The technique is that of touching the most sensitive fiber of the general public. For example, the picture below is what became viral in 2014, a child playing with parents and was made during a project dedicated to family love.
