Buerger disease is a occlusive disease of small and medium sized arteries.It usually occur in young male person before the age of 45.It usually causes proliferation,fibrosis and thrombosis of intima of small or medium sized arteries which causes occlusion of lumen.
Clinical feature:
1.Usually occur in smoker person(20 to 30 cigarette per day)
2.Cramp like pain in the leg.
3.Coldness,numbness,paraesthesia and color change of limb.
4.May be ischaemia,ulcer and gangrene present.
5.Affected skin Dry,shriveled,blackened and mummified present.
6.Mustle wasting present.
7.Decresed sensation.
Treatment:
1.Stop smoking.
2.Palliative treatment (aspirin,vitamin E,vasidilator and nicotinic acid)
3.Amputation may be required in case of severe case.
