RE: Aborted Fetal Cells- Used as "Flavor Enhancers" In Food...

in #medical7 years ago (edited)

You are taking things out of context and showing a misunderstanding of science , or willingly ignoring it to support a point

From the wikipedia entry :

Senomyx develops patented flavor enhancers by using "proprietary taste receptor-based assay systems." These receptors have been previously expressed in HEK293 cells.[1] HEK stands for human embryonic kidney cells. These cells are derived from cells that originally came from a healthy, electively aborted human fetus in the early 1970s

What it says in the entry means that HEK cells do come from human embryon and that the receptors are present in the cells

Senomyx has developed a system that has the same kind of receptors present

It doesent mean those necesarilly came from embryons , most likely they were engineered from other sources to resemble human ones

No human taste receptors are used as ingredients in any flavourings.

Its very clear

here- http://www.naturalnews.com/049367_aborted_babies_flavor_chemicals_food_corporations.html

Neither natural news nor cnn are valid sources of news , and they are doing the same thing you are doing, taking valid studies and scientific statements and putting them out of context

Thisa really a sad attempt to generate controversy on a issue that doesent exist
