Thanks. Yes very true. One of the sad things is that people with pre-diabetes almost always end up developing actual type 2 diabetes even though good diet and exercise could prevent it. Once they become diabetic they often then give up even though these things are still just as important - if not even more important for preventing the complications of diabetes (which include dementia).
I think some people are afraid to find out the truth, some have a bad financial situation, all these factors affect the picture of the incidence among the population. The human factor plays a role, the population knows little information. Many people do not believe that the problem can affect him.
Yes it is the "it will never happen to me" phenomenon. Heart disease, dementia, cancers, diabetes these are all things that will happen to someone else - until it does actually happen to us.
