RE: Comparing Systems Of Medicine - Westernized Medicine Vs. Alternative Medicine

in #medicine9 years ago

Western medicine consists of various complex compounds that are researched by the huge pharma companies purely for profit on the pretence of helping the population. Taken at face value these compounds may go some way to helping the illness in question but more times than not lead to knock on side effects that then require a new 'miracle' compound to help with this. The whole system is designed to to keep us ill and make sure we pay through the nose for the privilege. If at all an alternative medicine is an option this in my opinion should be your first port of call.

I tend to take a balanced approach to my medical care and would agree that I would rather not have to take a narrowly engineered synthetic if I don't have to. Often times nature has spent eons developing sympathetic compounds that assist in the delivery or absorption of chemicals in the body. I think that often there is a financial disincentive to provide whole medicines because they are more difficult to patent. I personally try to use integrated medicine practitioners for the care that I receive because of the balanced approach.
