There are things in life that open new doors of consciousness. For me the first big one was meditation, the next big one Ayahuasca and the current big one is ceremonial cacao.
Worshipped for centuries in central America for it's healing, energetic and nutritional value, what they drink doesn't have much in common with the chocolate you can buy in stores, even the raw organic ones.
Somehow all brands have been afraid of leaving the intense bitterness in their products. And as they remove the bitter taste, they also get rid of most of the nutrients and spiritual potential.
In Guatemala their are going back to those roots now, especially around the lake Atitlán. Cacao is called the food of the gods and they call the cacao spirit Chicoy. They say she comes down from the mountains whenever humanity needs to open its heart.
And you can see cacao ceremonies spreading steadily all over the rest of the world now, especially Europe and North America.
The cacao journey is vastly different from Ayahuasca or Buddhist meditation. First of all, it's fun. It doesn't take you anywhere you don't want to go. It is said that Ayahuasca pushes you through the door you need to enter, cacao just shows you the door, opens your heart and holds your hand if you dare to go inside yourself where it hurts.
But they do have one thing in common: they both facilitate a connection to the collective consciousness. The place where everything is known, and every achievement can be copied. So if any human has ever achieved anything, thought anything or done anything, then you can go into the collective consciousness and copy the recipe so to say.
You might not get there right away, but you will know how.
So meditation can bring you to a place where nothing exist, everything is an illusion, a deep realization of what the scientist describe as 99.9% emptiness.
Cacao can bring you in the other direction, to the place where everything is. Some call it the spiritual comedy channel. I call it pure light.
And I feel that light is what humanity needs before we are ready for pure silence.
Because I think most of us want to get the most out of this current life. Not just the next ones.
