What Is Megacryptopolis?
Megacryptopolis is a dapp which is like SimCity. A player can use ether in order to buy a virtual building. Such a building generates ether as a passive income in return for the player who bought it. A player can also buy lands and districts. However, a land which has no building on it (waste land) does not generate any income except lands which have mineable resources. Since a non-mineable waste land does not generate any passive income at all a player has to build a building on it to receive some passive income. Buildings can be upgraded several times in order to receive higher cash-flows. A tax fee needs to be paid for every action like building, upgrading or demolishing. These taxes will be mainly used to fund these passive incomes which are generated by buildings.
Megacryptopolis new changes
Recently, the megacryptopolis-team mentioned that there will be several large upgrades. Firstly, they are planning to convert the 2D graphic into a 3D graphic. Secondly, the economical model will also be altered. According to their MegaCryptoPolis 3D Draft Paper residential buildings will start producing citizens those are required to maintain operations in other buildings. I am not sure if owners have to pay for producing citizens or not.
Buildings will gain new functions: Offices will give citizens jobs to earn ether. Commercial buildings will restore citizens Stamina and allow changing their appearance for a small fee in Ether. Utility buildings (like hospital, police station and fire department) will gain insurance funds in case of natural disaster in the district. Mining buildings will produce resources required to construct new buildings. These resources will also be needed to upgrade buildings. Production buildings produce complex resources required to upgrade other buildings. I am sure they mean that once a building has reached a high “upgrade-level” some complex resources are needed in order to upgrade it again since "basic resources" are not able to upgrade a building again when it has reached a certain "upgrade-level". Energy buildings will produce electricity and water that is required for other buildings to operate.
All operations in buildings (like resource collection or service offering) require energy and water to be accomplished. Therefore, owning an energy building can be a great advantage since many people are needing your resources water or electricity. Every resource can be traded with other players.
