A visit to the western suburbs isn't complete without venturing to the Victoria State Rose Garden. Home to over 5000 roses, the garden is maintained entirely by volunteers and is in my opinion one of the best family picnic spots around.
Located in Werribee, just a 30 minute drive from Melbourne CBD, the beautiful environment is sure to delight.
Entry is free, though donations can be made directly to the garden if you desire.
The garden backs onto two other popular tourist destinations; Shadofax Winery and Highfield House. Werribee Zoo is also accessible from the same road
