RE: Meme challenge #110 - Entry #1 - ticket avoidance

in #memchallenge6 years ago (edited)

@rixhatvns, this is NOT the first time one of your contestants has bid bot abused. I gave the first one a warning a while back, @cyrus33.

Understand that a warning is a courtesy that is sometimes afforded but we are, by no means, obligated to do so.

The post is overvalued significantly and thus subject to flags for bid bot abuse. If you dispute that, you are being disingenuous. This is about integrity in curation and there was a breach.

I've had my eye on your contests @richatvns and I gave you a warning earlier about contest spam. We don't want to see it anymore. Requiring upvotes to enter a contest is considered abuse.

That's not merely my definition but any reasonable person readily see that as a manipulative tactic. It's also the position of Steemit Inc per their FAQ.

Now, as for your pal here, the penalty for bid bot abuse is negative ROI. People need to KNOW as well as SEE that this is not the path to success on this platform.

There is no stipulation for not over boosting your contest entries. The only thing you mention is plagiarism and note that IS NOT why we are flagging this content.

You bear responsibility for this. What I recommend is to remove the spammy elements of your contest, add a caveat about excessive bidding and all will be gravy.

If they are good memes, hell, I'll give em an upvote.

Hope you understand as I am sick and tired of vote manipulation via bots and my threshold for patience is low. If it were maybe $50, I would have been inclined to warn, but this was just gross overvaluation.

He should be ashamed and so should you for supporting it.

I just reread your message, let me get this straight you gave Stephen a warning when he made a mistake (in your eyes). And he modified his behavior!

Yet you thought it ok to rip into a new person the platform with no warning?

You just proved my point!

You need a set of published rules, and specific set of actions, which includes steps and full disclosure...

Because right now you just proved your a lynch mob....

Here's another olive branch...

I will even help you come up with guidelines, and rules.. get Published and bot distributes it...So every new user on the platform gets a warning message when they sign up.

And I'm sure Matt @yabapmatt would also put it on SteemBotTracker if it's what the community agrees to, he's a rightous dude!

I've done it rules of operation, enough times for mine and other businesses.
