Here's a list of deaths caused by governments in the 20th Century

Of particular note are the preponderance of Socialist governments under the 'DEKA-MEGAMURDERER' category.

Perhaps we should expand government to combat this worrying trend?

i think the post is a good idea but the numbers are a little low.

After the fall of the USSR it was found around 1.7 million deaths in the Gulags and some 390,000 deaths during kulak forced resettlement – for a total of about 3 million officially recorded victims in these categories.

As well Mao's great leap forward killed over 30 million in less than 5 years.
