This is really interesting @geekpowered. I’m trying to learn how to use gimp to make animated gifs with sprites. Got any advice? I’m used to using flash with its timelines and key frames, but I’m not sure that gimp has that. From what I can tell in gimp, you make layers instead of key frames and it animated from bottom up. Is there a better way in gimp?

Making GIMP gifs is actually very similar to photoshop. Or like making a flip book. Each layer is a frame. It's a pain in the ass.
Look up lots of tutorials, and realize that it's probably not the best tool for the job. I just use it because I have it installed, and it's open source.
I was just going to say this is so relatable but wanted to know why you used gimp since I would assume you have photoshop installed. But hey use what is at hand and always good to try and stay off the corporate bandwagon.
